五、阅读理解 添加题型下试题
Are too many kids obsessed (着迷的)with texting?
Texting Nonstop!
Yes, I do think kids are too obsessed with texting. Many kids I know can be in the same room or even sitting next to each other, but they text each other rather than actually talk! With some of my friends, it’s hard to get their attention when they are texting. People seem to like to text more than talk.
—Riley
Responsible Texting
No, I don’t think too many kids are obsessed with texting. Sometimes kids might just need some time alone on the phone. They probably just need to talk to their friends! I believe most kids are responsible and know when to stop texting.
—Ella
Guilty (羞愧的)of texting too much
Kids are really obsessed with texting. When I text my friends, almost all of them answer back in less than a minute. Some of my friends even get their phones taken away for being on them too much. I see my friends most of my day at soccer or at school, and even I am guilty of texting them several hours a day when I am home. Sometimes it’s better to spend time outdoors and with your family rather than with your phone.
—Tom
Get physical-Get off the phone!
A lot of my friends, as soon as they got a smart phone, were texting or online constantly. Spending that much time on a screen is not healthy for you or your brain. Personally, Fd rather spend time outside doing sports with my friends than on the phone. You can tell your friends things at school or whenever you see next—you don’t have to spend all your time texting.
—Shanna

US President Donald Trump showed the video of his 5-year-old granddaughter, Arabella, singing and reciting poems in Chinese to President Xi Jinping when he paid his first visit to China. It became a hot topic.
What the video didnH show is the growing movement by many American families to have their children study Chinese at a young age.
“ It was a surprise for everyone to see the little girl speak Chinese excellently, and it’s such a wonderful honor to their parents,” said Corman, founder and president of a private language school in Manhattan where Ivanka Trump’s three children studied Chinese.
She said the school has seen a major increase in American families having their children learn Chinese, and now there are more than 100 at the school.
“It’s a huge investment (投资)in their children’s future, not only because of China’s large market, but Chinese is an attractive language — children love to learn Chinese because it’s such a tonal language (声调语言),and it is the language with the most native speakers in the world,’’ Corman said.
She said the families learning Chinese at the school are from all over the world, and they are there for different reasons. There are families where one or both parents are from China, who want their children to keep their traditional culture, and there are American families who are interested in China and its culture.
“Americans have completely changed their plans about learning foreign languages, and we even have their children start learning foreign languages as young as four months,” added Corman.
Besides Ivanka Trump, many wealthy parents are also pushing their young children to learn Chinese, including Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and his wife MacKenzie, and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan.

High-tech machines have made life easier for millions around the world. However, some people still prefer low-tech ways of doing things. Here’s an example of why this is happening. You can microwave a frozen hamburger in 60 seconds. However, it won’t taste as good as one you cook on the stove(炉). And if you’re in that much of a hurry, you probably won’t take time to toast(烘烤) the bread. High-tech cooking saves time, but it doesn’t make better-tasting meals.
Most people get their news from high-tech sources like television or the Internet. This has many advantages. For example, electronic news is more up to date than newspapers or magazines. It’s also more exciting to see live and videotaped news events than photographs.
However, newspapers and magazines have some important advantages. They give more background and details(细节). They also let you read the parts that are important to you and skip the rest. Other high-tech timesavers have similar disadvantages. For example, most people use the phone or email to stay in touch with friends and family members who live in other places. But when you use the Internet or the phone, you don’t always think carefully about what you are saying, and sometimes you forget the important things you want to communicate. Similarly, when you do your homework on the computer, you needn’t check your spelling by yourself. However, you are so busy with the computer that you don’t pay enough attention to the actual words they are writing.
56. What advantages of high-tech machines does the writer mention in the text?A.They make more delicious meals. |

C.We can get the latest news from high-tech sources like television or the Internet. |
D.When we email our friends, we are always careful to choose the right words to say. |
A.The writer thinks high-tech machines are perfect. |
B.The writer shows no interest in high-tech things. |
C.The writer expresses that each coin has two sides. |
D.The writer expects people to use more high-tech things. |
A.News. | B.Music and art. |
C.Sports. | D.Science and technology. |
If you want to learn a new language, the very first thing to think about is why.
Most people learn best in their own ways, but traditional classes are an ideal (理想的)start for many people.
Many people may think they’ve so old that they give up learning a language. Yes, children do learn languages more quickly than adults, but some research has shown that you can learn a language at any age.
