A library has a collection of books, and a librarian is a person whose job is to look after the library. A library can be quite small or quite big. The British Library in London has more than 150,000,000 books.

If you are lucky enough to have a class library, your teacher will tell you how to use it. Your school may have its own library, too. Again, your teacher will tell you how to use it.     

Today, many towns have public libraries.   There are large collections of books in those libraries. Anyone in the town can borrow books from the public library. Sometimes you may have to pay some money; sometimes it is free.
