Everyone can join the fight against the novel coronavirus. What can we do? Here are some tips from the Handbook of Prevention and Treatment of COVID-19 released by WeDoctor Digital General Hospital.
Stay away from crowds and stay healthy.
First, don’t go to places where there are many people. If you have to, remember to mask up. Stay at least one meter away from others, especially those who are coughing or sneezing. Second, open windows to let fresh air in during the day. Do it three times a day for 15 minutes to half an hour each time. You can only get infected (感染的) if the virus builds up in certain amounts. Proper ventilation can stop the virus from building up. Third, keep healthy habits such as eating a healthy diet, exercising and getting enough sleep. This can improve your immune system.
Wear medical masks.
Wearing medical masks is an effective way of preventing the spread of the novel coronavirus. What kind of mask should you wear? Medical surgical(外科的) masks and N95 are effective at stopping the virus, according to the Center for Disease Control. N95 means the masks prevent at least ninety-five percent of very small particles.
Wash hands properly.
Remember to wash your hands before eating, after going to the bathroom, coming home, coming into contact with garbage and touching animals. Don’t touch your eyes, nose and mouth before washing your hands. It is possible that you might have touched something that had virus on it. When you wash your hands, use running water and soap. Rub your hands together for at least 15 seconds.

A blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up a sign which said, “I am blind, please help.” There were only a few coins in the hat.
A man was walking by. He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into the hat. He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would see the new words.
Soon the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to the blind boy. That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to see how things were. The boy heard footsteps and asked, “Were you the one who changed my sign this morning? What did you write?” The man said, “I only wrote the truth. I said what you said, but in a different way.”
What he had written was, “Today is a beautiful day, but I cannot see it.”
Both signs told people that the boy was blind. But the first sign simply said the boy was blind. The second sign told people they were so lucky that they were able to enjoy the beauty of the day but the boy could not because he was blind.
So be thankful for what you have! And please remember, be creative and learn to think differently. There is always a better way.

Is it better to shower at night or in the morning? Personally, I do both, but which is the best way to go? Let’s have a look and see...
Shower at night
You’ll wash off the dirty of the day. If you’re out all day and sweaty or taking exercise, you should shower before going to bed.
You’ll have a better sleep, too. Several studies have shown that taking a shower in the evening and at least 90 minutes before sleep will allow your body to heat up and cool down in time for a better sleep. It will relax your body and get you ready for sleep.
You’ll have better skin. Your skin grows at night. A full-body shower at night will make it much easier for your skin to keep the dead skin cells away.
Shower in the morning
It sets up your day. You wake up half asleep, still tired... Coffee doesn’t seem to be working, so why don’t you take a shower instead? It can wake you up and help you get your head in the game.
It is great for morning exercisers. Also, if you work out in the morning, a shower can help you warm up your body.
It helps your skin. You can wash off all the oil and sweat during your sleep and feel fresh and clean all day. A morning shower can make your skin in better health and make you feel more confident.
So, the conclusion is: here’s not a huge difference in whether you decide to shower at night or in the morning. Whatever makes you feel better, that’s what you should do.

There are many different ideas about when and where the first toothbrush was invented
Before the first toothbrushes, sharp (尖的) objects(物体)were used to clean teeth.
It’s believed that bribes in Africa and Australia invented the idea of cleaning their teeth. The modern toothbrush with bristles(毛) was invented in China much later in the 16th or 17th century.
Today, toothbrushes have nylon(尼龙) bristles and normally have a plastic handle. Animal hair was replaced by nylon in 1938. Electric(电动的)toothbrushes were invented and marketed in 1880 by “Dr. Scott”. But the electric toothbrush did not become popular until after World WarⅡ. When the cordless model was invented in 1960, its popularity increased a lot.

The World Health Organization, or WHO, has the following advice to protect yourself from being infected with the COVID-19(新型冠状病毒肺炎) or other flu-like diseases.
Clean your hands often and carefully with an alcohol-based hand cleaner or wash them with soap and water. Washing your hands kills viruses that may be on your hands.
Stay at least one meter away from anyone who is coughing or sneezing. When someone coughs or sneezes, they release small drops of liquid from their nose or mouth which may contain the virus. If you are too close, you can breathe in virus if the person coughing has the disease.
Your hands touch many surfaces where viruses can survive up to nine days. Once contaminated(污染), hands can carry the virus to your eyes, nose or mouth. From there, the virus can enter your body and can make you sick.
Practice respiratory hygiene(呼吸卫生)
Make sure that you, and the people around you, cover your mouth and nose with your elbow or facial tissue when you cough or sneeze. Then throw away the used tissue immediately.
If you have a fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical attention, and follow the directions of your local health official. Calling ahead will permit the health official to quickly direct you to the right health facility. This will also help to prevent possible spread of COVID-19 and other viruses.
A.Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth
B.Seek medical care early
C.Wash your hands frequently
D.Maintain social distancing

Drowning (溺水) is among the 10 leading causes of death of children and young people in every place of the world. Tragedies (悲剧) are happening over and over again. To prevent them from growing further, we need to keep some safety tips in mind.
•Drowning ≠ Crying for help.
Drowning is often not as dramatic (引人注目的) as what we see in movies. (74题. 翻译句子) When someone is drowning, especially if it is a child, he may not be able to shout out. A lot of times when kids drown, it looks like they are just absent-minded—but they are actually going unconscious (无意识的). At this point, they should be immediately carried out of the water.
•Life jackets can save your life.
Don’t use air-filled or foam (泡沫)toys, such as “water wings”, “noodles”, instead of life jackets. These toys are not life jackets and can not keep swimmers safe well.
•Don’t try to save drowning friends.
This is not when you should show your love to your drowning friends and family members. It is very likely that you can get yourself into danger, and might end up becoming a drowning victim (受害者) yourself.
Saving someone drowning hand-in-hand with a few others can be even more dangerous. The “human chain” you form can easily break if one of you experiences any kind of tiredness, and one person can knock down the whole team.
•Know who can save a life.
Now, knowing that you can not really save a life, who should you ask for help? Lifeguards. They are usually well-trained and are equipped (装备) with many tested life-saving methods. Therefore, if you think you see someone drowning, call a lifeguard at once, even if you’re not sure what drowning looks like or think you might be wrong.

Is it possible to listen to too much music?
I love music so much that I decided to study it in college. I’m earning a doctoral degree (博士学位) in music history, for which I have researched everything from early classical music to 20th-century music.
I always have my headphones on. I listen to music while taking a walk. I listen to pop songs while answering emails.
I miss out on a lot around me by listening to music all of the time, however. I might not hear the sound of birds outside my window or the sound of the wind. Or the conversations of my family enjoying one another’s company right outside my closed door.
Apart from causing you to miss out on all the sounds that surround you, generally speaking, listening to music does not harm your body. It does not damage your liver, poison your lungs or fry your brain.
There are, however, exceptions.
For instance, you can damage your ears if you listen to music that is too loud for long periods of time. The World Health Organization estimates that around 50 percent of teenagers and young adults listen to music at unsafe levels. The WHO has concluded that people can withstand (承受) 85 decibels (分贝) continuously for eight hours without damaging their hearing.
Anyone who plays music regularly or attends concerts needs to take extra caution as well. Several rock stars from the 1970s and 1980s have spoken out for years about their experience with hearing loss and tinnitus (耳鸣)
Their condition resulted from rehearsing (排练) and performing for long periods of time at loud volumes (音量). The average concert often exceeds (超过) 100 decibels, and the WHO notes that such sound levels can begin to damage one's ears after only 15 minutes.
Most musicians rehearse and perform for more than 15 minutes. And most concerts last at least an hour. The solution, then, is to take precautions (预防措施).
I carry earplugs (耳塞) everywhere. They can cut out up to 21 decibels of noise. I put my earplugs in while rehearsing or attending shows, or whenever I need to relax in a noisy environment. Other people rarely notice.
Sound of Metal, a movie released in 2019, shows a drummer’s experience with hearing loss. It is a serious reminder of the importance of protecting your hearing.

When we are hurt or suddenly feeling unwell, what we need to do is to treat it in the right way. How can we do that? First aid (急救)teaches you to deal with emergencies (突发清况)correctly.
Nosebleed (流鼻血)
Ask him or her to lean forward (前倾)and pinch (捏住)the nose. It is wrong to move the head backward. If the bleeding doesn’t stop after five to six minutes, then you should find a doctor.
Broken bone
If the bone is broken, take away clothing from the wound and keep the hurt body part still (不动的).Then, find an adult or call 120 for further help.
Fainting (昏厥)
Have him or her lie with feet lifted a little. Make sure he or she can breathe and let fresh air in. Clean the person's face with a cool cloth.
Learning first aid is not only good for helping others, but it can also benefit (使....受益)ourselves.

Online store JD can use drones to deliver small packages (包裹). It has built several drone stations so that it can load (装载) and deliver its packages.
Drones have made our shopping experience different. We can order a new coat in early morning and it will be delivered before we finish breakfast.
