Charity(慈善） took one famous lady far away from her home. Mother Teresa（特蕾莎修女） spent most of her life helping others. She was born in 1910. When she was eighteen years old she decided to be a nun（修女）. Soon she was sent to India. At first, she worked in a school in Calcutta（加尔各答）. Most of the students came from the rich family, and Mother Teresa’s life was comfortable. 20 years later, she left the school and started to help poor people. First, she opened a school that was free. Some of her old students came to help her at her new school. In 1950, she started the Missionaries of Charity（仁爱传教会） that was made up of nuns. In 1952, she opened the first Home for the dying（临终的人）. Some people didn’t like it because they were afraid of having dying people in their neighborhood. But slowly people changed their minds. They began to see all the good that Mother Teresa and her nuns were doing. Later, Mother Teresa became very famous, and received a lot of money from people who wanted to support her work. In 1979, she won the Noble Peace Prize. More people have begun to do charity work since then. Now there are homes for the dying in many different countries. Mother Teresa died in 1997, but she is still remembered all over the world for what she did for the poor.

What would you do if you felt anxious(焦虑的)? Would you feel better if other people could share their experience with you? In the United States, two teenage girls set up a mental health camp called Healing(治愈) Hearts to help people deal with anxiety.

The idea of creating the camp came from Dinah Martinez, 17, and her schoolmate Janet Martinez, 18. Both girls suffered from anxiety in the past.

The girls’ camp idea got support from Girls Leading Our World(GLOW) in the US. The organization awarded them $5,000 to put on the camp for other teenage girls.

On the first day of the camp, 10 girls were there. Experts at the camp talked about anxiety. They helped girls who were experiencing anxiety. The girls learned how to calm themselves down when they are anxious. They learned about calming methods like deep breathing and guided mediation(调节).

Dinah Martinez always did well in school. "But then I just started to collapse（崩溃）,"Dinah

Martinez said. She stopped talking to her friends, stopped going to school for three weeks and stayed at home.

Janet Martinez was anxious in elementary school. Things got even worse in junior high. "It was a lot of pressure（压力）I put on myself. I would wake up in the morning and it was like my heart was racing," she said.
