Running is becoming popular these days. Many of us run for health. Doctors say many health problems come from these bad habits: eating and drinking too much, smoking, and not taking enough exercise. Doctors tell us, “Eat and drink less, don’t smoke, and exercise more.”

Running is a good form of exercise because it helps build a strong heart. It also helps most people lose weight. One 68-year-old woman runs three times a week. “I love to eat,” she says. She runs to lose weight.

Running is good for health in other ways, too. Many runners say running keeps colds and other small health problems away. “Running is my doctor,” says one man.

Running can also help people to relax. So today men and women of all ages enjoy running.

【推荐1】We've reached a strange-some would say unusual -point. While fighting world hunger continues to be the matter of vital importance according to a recent report from the World Health Organization (WHO), more people now die from being overweight, or say, from being extremely fat, than from being underweight. It's the good life that's more likely to kill us these days.
Worse, nearly 18 million children under the age of five around the world are estimated to be overweight. What's going on?
We really don't have many excuses for our weight problems. The dangers of the problem have been drilled into us by public-health campaigns since 2001 and the message is getting through-up to a point.
In the 1970s, Finland, for example, had the highest rate of heart disease in the world and being overweight was its main cause. Not any more. A public-health campaign has greatly reduced the number of heart disease deaths by 80 per cent over the past three decades.
Maybe that explains why the percentage of people in Finland taking diet pills doubled between 2001 and 2005, and doctors even offer surgery of removing fat inside and change the shape of the body. That has become a sort of fashion. No wonder it ranks as the world's most body-conscious country.
We know what we should be doing to lose weight-but actually doing it is another matter. By far the most popular excuse is not taking enough exercise. More than half of us admit we lack willpower.
Others blame good food. They say: it's just too inviting and it makes them overeat. Still others lay the blame on the Americans, complaining that pounds lave piled on thanks to eating too much American-style fast food.
Some also blame their parents-their genes. But unfortunately, the parents are wronged because they're normal in
It's a similar story around the world, although people are relatively unlikely to have tried to lose weight. Parents are eager to see their kids shape up. Do as I say-not as I do.

C.They have been made fully aware of its dangers.
D.There are too many overweight people in the world.

【推荐2】You might think that drinking fruit juice is healthy. But that’s not quite true. A study (研究) shows that drinking too much juice—even 100% fruit juice—will do great harm to your health and can even make you die early.

This is because these drinks have a lot of sugar. Scientists said drinking too much fruit juice is just like drinking too much soda (汽水) —they both have a lot of sugar. Eating too much sweet food can cause many health problems, such as getting fat and heart disease. Fruit juice has vitamins (维生素), but there are very few vitamins in it.

In the study, both soda and 100% fruit juice are “sweet drinks”. Scientists found that if people get 10% or more of their energy from sweet drinks every day, they may die from heart disease or other diseases. Jean Welsh, one of the scientists in the study, told CNN, “People should drink less sweet drinks, whether soda or fruit juice.”

Does this mean that eating fruit is also unhealthy? Fruit is still fine. When you eat 100g of fruit, you’re getting less sugar than if you drink 100g of juice, because the fruit has lots of fiber (纤维). This fiber is also good for our health. It’s better to eat the whole fruit instead of fruit juice.
