We always believe life will be better after we get married, have a baby, then another then still another. Then we think the kids aren’t old enough and we’ll be more satisfied when they are. After that we think we have teenagers to deal with. We will certainly be happy when they are out of that stage(阶段).
We always tell ourselves our life will be complete when we get a nice car, and are able to go on a nice vacation when we retire(退休). The truth is there’s no better time than right now. If not now, when? Our life will always be filled with challenges. It’s best to accept this to ourselves and try to be happy from now on.
One of my favourite sayings comes from Alfred Souza. He said, “For a long time it seemed to me real life was about to begin. But there were always some difficulties in the way, something to be got through first, some business, time still to be served, a debt(债务)to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it was clear to me that these difficulties were my life.”
This view has helped me to see that there is no way to happiness. Happiness is the way. So value every moment that you have.
And remember time waits for no one. So stop waiting until you finish school; until you get married; until you have kids; until you retire; until your get a new car; until spring; until you are born again to decide that there is no better time than right now to be happy...
Happiness is a journey, not a destination(目的地). So, work like you don’t need money, love like you’ve never been hurt, and dance like no one’s watching.
Try to do what you like and enjoy what you can enjoy at present or you will feel regretful(后悔的)when you are too old to do anything.

Several years ago, an overseas student lived in Germany. After years of hard work, the student graduated with amazing achievements. Everyone thought he was going to get a good job easily and have a bright future.
But to his disappointment, he was not even given the chance for an interview! The third time he was refused, he couldn’t help telephoning the company to ask why they didn’t want him. The answer was simple. “We don’t offer jobs to dishonest people in Germany.”
What was wrong, you might wonder? The truth is, shortly after he arrived in Germany, this clever student found that it was easy to skip(越过)buying subway tickets. So in order to save money, he often went without a ticket. As a result, he had been caught without a ticket in the subway four times.

【推荐2】As a child, I learned what it was like to make every dollar useful, because growing up in a poor family, living on a tight budget (预算紧张) was normal. As a result, I could not wait to graduate, move out and make money myself.
I believed things would be different when I was finally on my own. However, it wasn’t quite as easy as I had hoped to walk into the real world for the first time.
In my late 20s, my world turned upside down in just 72 hours. My husband lost his job on Wednesday and two days later, I lost mine. In three days, we had no ways to support our family. As you can imagine, I couldn’t accept the news that both my husband and I were suddenly out of work. I wanted to find a place to hide, but that wasn’t a choice. I was scared and didn’t know what we were going to do. It was also one of only three times in our life when I saw fear in my husband’s eyes.
Luckily, our family had made a smart decision a few years earlier that saved us. It had taken us around two years, but we managed to save a $1,000 emergency fund (应急基金). Having our emergency fund allowed us to pay everything for the next six months. Without it, we would have probably been homeless in a short while.
I believe in the value of emergency funds because I’ve experienced how important they can be. Even if you can only afford to save five dollars a week, start saving.

Most people want to be happy, but few know how to find happiness. Money and Success alone do not bring lasting happiness. Aristotle, a Greek thinker, said, "Happiness depends upon ourselves." In other words, we make our own happiness. Here are a few suggestions to help you be happier.
The first secret of happiness is to enjoy the simple things in life. Too often, we spend so much time thinking about the future -for example, getting into college or getting a good job -that we fail to enjoy the present. You should enjoy life's simple pleasures, such as reading a good book, listening to your favorite music, or spending time with close friends. (3) People who have several close friends often live happier and healthier lives.
Another secret to living a happy life is to be active, and have hobbies where you forget your problems and time. Many people experience this by dancing, or playing a sport, such as swimming. You can forget about your problems, and only think about the activity. Finally, many people find happiness in helping others. (4) Studies show that people feel good when they spend their time helping others. If you want to feel happier, do good things for someone. You can help a friend with his or her studies, go shopping to buy food for an elderly person, or simply help out around the house by washing the dishes.

【推荐3】Most people around the world are right-handed. This also seems to be true in history. In 1799, scientists studied works of art made at different times. Most of the people shown in these works were right-handed, so the scientists guessed that right-handedness had always been common through history. Today, only about 10% to 15% of the world's population are left-handed.
Why are there more right-handed people than left-handed ones? Scientists now know that a person's two hands each have their own jobs. This is because of the different work of the two sides of the brain. The right side of the brain, which makes a person's hands and eyes work together, controls the left hand. The left-side of the brain, which controls the right hand, is the centre for thinking and doing problems. These findings show that more artists should be left-handed, and studies have found that left-handedness is twice as common among artists as among people in other jobs.
No one really knows what makes a person become right-handed instead of left-handed. Scientists have found that almost 40% of the people become left-handed because their main brain is damaged when they are born. However, this doesn't happen to everyone, so scientists guess there must be another reason why people become left-handed. One idea is that people usually get right-handed from their parents. ①If a person does not receive the gene (基因) for right-handedness, he / she may become either right-handed or left-handed according to the chance and the people they work or live with.
Though right-handedness is more common than left-handedness, people no longer think left-handed people are strange or unusual. A long time ago, left-handed children were made to use their right hands like other children, but today ②they don't have to.
