【推荐1】I went through some difficult times, dealing with the pressures of growing up. I found it hard to communicate with my mother. Relations between us became difficult.
One day, I ran away from home and stayed away for many hours. When I returned home at night, I saw all the pain, anger and disappointment on my mother’s face. Amazingly enough, it felt like all the anger inside me went away from my body. We agreed to have breakfast together the next morning. It was a turning point in both of our lives and our relationship.
We decided to go to a restaurant. On our way to the table I noticed my mother had two notebooks. I asked her what they were for. She explained to me that sometimes it was easier to write down our feelings rather than talk about them. We would write down our feelings in the form of a letter. It could be as long or as short as we wanted.
Our first topic was “Why I’m so angry?” I wrote a half page, and my mom filled up nearly three pages. I watched tears run down her face as she wrote. After we finished writing, we exchanged our notebooks. When we finished reading, we discussed our feelings. Our talk helped me realize so many things I had never thought of before, not only about my mother but also about other people.
My mother and I continue to use our notebooks as a way of communicating our anger and worries, and our happiness as well. We know that no matter how we feel about each other, our notebooks are a safe place to express our feelings. We have come to an agreement that at the end of each letter we write, “I love you.”

According to several recent surveys, some people fear public speaking more than anything else. Luckily, this fear can be overcome (克服) with two simple methods: practice and using positive (正面的) energy from the audience.
Practising for a speech is essential. After the task of writing the speech is complete, speakers must practise, practise, practise. The more times they practise the speech, the more comfortable they will discuss the topic. Using objects such as mirrors or video recordings as they practise can show speakers what they look and sound like to the audience. Video is particularly helpful as it can be watched many times, with the presenters focusing (集中) on one part at a time.
Another way of dealing with public speaking fears is using the audience’s positive energy. Speakers need to remember that the audience want them to succeed. Something as basic as a small nod or a smile from a member of the audience should give confidence to the presenters behind the podium (讲台). While it is easy for nervous speakers to focus only on getting through the presentation, using the audience’s good will helps much in making a speech better.
All in all, these two strategies are sure to help with fear of public speaking. With proper practice and audience empathy (共鸣), it is possible to overcome the fear of public speaking and deliver a successful speech. So there is no need to fear public speaking any more.

Studying is important to students. But it is always difficult to find enough time to study every subject you need. So a good plan helps you to make sure of your success in study.
Then, it´s time to make a study plan. Well, you can begin with listing all the subjects you need to study and make sure what you need to do for each subject. Next, you should decide how much time you should spend on different subjects. No t is a good idea to study at the same time every day. In this way, you actually have a plan you can remember easily. While arranging time for each subject, you also need to make sure that you still have time for family, friends and rest. This is because you won't be able to succeed in your studies unless you balance your personal life and your study.
Once the plan is made, the next thing you need to do is to follow it. The biggest challenge in following your study plan is that you will be tempted to avoid it and do something relaxing, or fun instead. Luckily, you can fight this temptation taking breaks. But be sure not to take extra breaks or too long breaks as it can affect your plan. So at the start of your break, set an alarm clock to remind you when your break is over. Also, you need to use your break wisely. For example, go for short walk, cat a small snack, or listen to some music.
To avoid forgetting to follow your plan, try to get into the habit of looking at your calendar every day. Sometimes our plans are hard to follow because some important people in our lives distract (使分心) us from our goals. In order to avoid this, ell people in your life about your plan. Self-reflection(反省)means slowing down and calming yourself, including calming your mind. Some people like to do self-reflection only in their mind. Others keep a diary. What's more, taking notes is also OK. Each method(方法)works. You can follow the steps to do self-reflection.
First, choose the proper time to do it. School textbooks are divided into(被分成)units of study. This makes it easier to begin self reflection. Look for time when you finish a unit of study. Sometimes you know it's time because there is some kind of test. Use these natural breaks(暂停)to stop and do self reflection.
Then, find a quiet place and take out your reflection diary. Write down some notes on the new things that you learned in the unit.
Finally, think about things that you are not sure of. Maybe you learned a new way to work out a maths problem, but you're not sure when to use it. Writing down your questions will help you remember to look for answers the next time you are working on the same topic.
Successful students always know self-reflection is important. If you have never taken the time to do self reflection, try it now.
