You probably enjoy riding a bicycle. But because more injuries (伤害) happen with bicycles than with any other kind of vehicle (交通工具), it is important that you keep your bicycle in good working conditions and follow some safety rules while you ride.

To help prevent accidents, ride your bicycle on the roads when there’s little traffic. If you can choose quiet streets, instead of riding on a busy street, your trip will be much safer. Whenever you ride on a road or street, you should know and practice bicycle safety rules. Always ride on the right side of the road so that cars can pass you safely. Because they go in the same direction as you. It is very important that you follow traffic signs.

Sometimes the best way to travel from one place to another is to walk. But you must remember that you are not the only traveler. Car and bus drivers, truckers may all pass by quickly without seeing you. Walk on sidewalks whenever possible. If there is no sidewalk and you have to walk on the road, you should walk on the left side facing traffic. 【推荐1】   Sadness and happiness are often talked about by people in their spare time. Most people want themselves to be happy for ever, but few know how to find happiness. Others say if you own lots of money and success, you will be happy. However, money and success alone do not bring lasting happiness. A famous a Greek thinker, Aristotle, said, “Happiness depends upon ourselves.” That’s to say, we make our own happiness. Here are a few suggestions to help you be happier.
The first secret of happiness is to enjoy the simple things in life. Too often, we spend so much time thinking about the future. You should enjoy life’s simple pleasures, such as reading a good book, listening to your favorite music, or spending time with close friends. People who have several close friends often live happier and healthier lives.
Another secret to live a happy life is to be active. Many people go dancing or play sports. People can forget about their problems and only think about the activities. Finally, many people find happiness in helping others. Studies show that people feel good when they spend their time helping others. If you want to feel happier, do good things for someone. 【推荐2】The place of the family computer may turn into a hot argue as your children get older. Whether you have one computer in the house or five, you should think the following things as you make a final decision.

There is a certain number of danger if you allow your children to have a computer with Internet in their rooms with no parental direction. They may share improper information and chat with strangers if they know that no one will be watching.

This does not mean that you cannot allow your children to have a computer in their rooms. Think allowing a computer without Internet access. This is especially useful for teens who use the computer for creative projects, playing video games and listening to music. Keep in mind, however, that it is possible that your kids are more skilled at computers than you are and may remove any blocks you have in place.

Computer Use

The way your family computers are used will play a role in deciding where they should be placed. A machine used only for homework will need to be in a quiet place where there is low traffic. One used for chatting online can be in the room where most of the family spend their time. If Mom and Dad use a computer for work, those needs will also have to be thought.

Space

Space must also be considered in computer placement. The computer will need electricity, plenty of desk space and a spot away from this bright light of windows. You will not want it placed in a room where your kids may be noisy.

3. What might be the best place for family computers used by students?

C.At the corner.D.In front of a TV set.
4. Which world can be put in the empty box?
A.Safety.B.Difficulty.
C.Friendship.D.Attention
5. What can we learn from the text?
A.A child should not be allowed to use a computer.
B.A child should not be allowed to get online.
C.A computer takes up a lot of desk space.
D.Many things decide the place of family computers.

Eat with others. It can help you to see others’ healthy eating habits. If you usually eat with your parents, you will find that the food you eat is more delicious.

Listen to your body. Ask yourself if you are really hungry. Have a glass of water to see if you are thirsty—sometimes you are just thirsty, you need no food. Stop eating before you feel full.

Eat breakfast. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. After you don’t eat for the past ten hours, your body needs food to get going. You will be smarter after eating breakfast.

Eat healthy snacks like fruits or cheese. We need snacks sometimes. In fact, it’s a good idea to eat healthy snacks between your three meals. This doesn’t mean that you can eat a bag of chips instead of a meal.

Don’t eat dinner late. With our busy life, we always put off eating dinner until the last moment. Try to eat dinner at least 3 hours before you go to bed. This will give your body a chance to digest most of the food before you rest for the next 8-10 hours.
