NASA hasn’t landed astronauts on the moon since the 1972 Apollo 17 mission. Last year, NASA said it would have a new moon landing program called Artemis. With the Artemis program, NASA will send the first woman and the next man to the moon in 2024. Not long ago, news about NASA’s Artemis program showed that the astronauts are going for a pretty long moon walk. After they reach the moon, they are going to walk 10 miles. This is over 16 times further than how far the first men to land on the moon walked. The astronauts are going to land on the South Pole (南极) of the moon. They will be looking for ice and water there. Such a long walk will come with lots of difficulties. It takes longer to walk a mile on the moon than on the earth because there is lower gravity (重力) on the moon. According to Apollo astronauts’ walking speed of around l.4 miles an hour, it will take over seven hours to walk 10 miles. However, NASA is said to be using a kind of new space suits (航天服). They will be lighter and more comfortable. They will help astronauts walk freely and keep them warm on the moon. “This is where we’re going to test out technologies. We are working hard for further lunar exploration,” said NASA engineer Natalie Mary. |

Thank you for inviting (邀请) me to your party. I’m sorry that I can’t go. Because your party is on Saturday, and on that day, I’ll be really busy. In the morning, I’ll get up early and take a bus to visit my cousin because she’s ill in the hospital. Then at around 9 o’clock I will have to study for an English test. At about 10:30 a.m., I’m going to have a piano lesson and then I will go to school to practice soccer. At around 4 p.m., I will have to go home to help my mom with dinner.
And in the evening, my parents are going out to play with their friends, so I will look after my little brother. But don’t feel pity (遗憾). I will go to see you on Sunday, because on Sunday I will be free.

Studying is important to students. But it is always difficult to find enough time to study every subject you need. So a good plan helps you to make sure of your success in study.
Then, how to make a study plan? Well, you can begin with listing all the subjects you need to study and make sure what you need to do for each subject. Next, you should decide how much time you should spend on different subjects. Now, it is a good idea to study at the same time every day. In this way, you can remember your plan easily. While arranging (安排) time for each subject, you also need to make sure that you still have time for family, friends and rest. This is because you won’t be able to succeed in your studies unless you balance your personal life and your study.
Once the plan is made, the next thing you need to do is to follow it. One of the biggest challenges in following your study plan is that you will be tempted (诱惑) to avoid it and do something relaxing, or fun instead. Luckily, you can fight this temptation by taking breaks. But be sure not to take extra breaks or too long breaks as it can affect your plan. So at the start of your break, set an alarm clock to remind you when your break is over. Also, you need to use your break in a wise way. For example, go for a short walk, eat a small snack, or listen to some music.
To avoid forgetting to follow your plan, try to get into the habit of looking at your calendar every day. Sometimes our plans are hard to follow because some important people in our lives distract (使分心) us from our goals. In order to avoid this, tell people in your life about your plan. Put up a copy of your study guide at home so you and your family can see it, and email a copy to your friends so they know when you have spare time.

Artificial Intelligence (人工智能) or AI is very useful in many different fields to perform certain tasks, including education, heavy industry, toys and games and so on.
Education
There are a number of companies that create robots to teach subjects to children, ranging (范围) from biology to computer science. With the help of AI, MOOC, or Massive Open Online Course, allows students from around the world to take classes online. Though such tools have not become popular yet.
Heavy Industry
Robots have become common in many industries, and are often given jobs that are considered dangerous to humans. Repetitive (重复的) jobs may lead to mistakes or accidents while robots can be very helpful to avoid them.
Toys and Games
Companies like Mattel have been creating AI-enabled toys for young people, even for kids aged three. Those toys are able to understand conversations, give smart answers and learn quickly. AI has also been used in video games, for example, video game bots (视频游戏机器人), which are designed (设计) to fight against you in the game.

Maggie Grout was just 15 years old when she set up a non-profit (非盈利的) organization-Thinking Huts. Now 22, she is raising money to build a series of 3D-printed school powered by solar energy. Maggie took the lead role and worked with university professors through the whole process of building the 3D-printed school. They chose Madagascar because it needs more schools. Many children in that country don't have the chance to receive education. Besides, it has a lot of sunshine, which can be made into energy to power things.
Maggie first drew a design for the school. She thought about what things the people needed and where they worked best.
Next, Maggie found an architect (建筑师) and 3D printing company for the job. To make it environmentally friendly, they use a special 3D printer to build the school. It meant up to 50 percent less concrete (混凝土) used and less CO2. Plus, the school could be completed in just a week. They also used local materials to build the doors, windows and roof.
What’s more, Thinking Huts will get local workers to learn how to use a 3D printer so that they can build more schools on their own in the future. Maggie plans to print more new schools in other parts of Madagascar because one in five children don’t have primary school to attend there.
So far, Maggie’s charity has already raised $125,000. “It’s good news to me! Of course, we need more.” Maggie told Spring wise website. Doing charity work means a lot and she is glad to carry on with it.

Recently, my 15-year-old daughter asked me for help with her homework. Unfortunately, I was already busy helping her brother. When I finally came to her 30 minutes later, she told me that it was too late and that she had asked Chat GPT for help. Through several rounds of questions and answers, the bot(机器人程序) had explained her physics lesson as well as helped her solve the problem. I checked the chat. The explanations were perfect.
I wouldn’t call this cheating—she had not asked the bot to do the work for her. Rather, it was through her interaction(交互) with the bot that she gained a better understanding of the problem and how to solve it. This year is likely going to be the tipping point(爆发点) for AI. Below let’s take a closer look at what GPT is, how it works, its limitations and problems.
Chat GPT is a big language model. It is trained on a large amount of text, which allows it to produce human-like responses to various questions. However, Chat GPT has trouble with complicated mathematical calculations. This probably shows that logical thinking hasn’t been fully picked up by such models. Moreover, in the current model, most of the training text was collected from publicly available data that had been gathered before the year 2021. As a result, such models are unable to produce accurate current information.
As a free tool, Chat GPT has allowed students to complete their homework without much effort. This has raised concerns(忧虑) about cheating—and the loss of learning ability. Educators fear that students will become lazy thinkers. They will fail to develop lifelong skills like critical thinking(批判性思考), researching and writing.
For sure, Chat GPT is a powerful language model. It has the power to completely change the way we learn and interact with machines. As the Chinese saying goes, “Water can carry a boat but it can also turn it over.” I think it’s important for us to remain aware of the problems that it’s likely to cause.

Each summer, you hear news that some sports players are sent to hospitals because it is too hot. Our bodies can't be outside in the sun for a long time. So in hot summers, be careful about playing sports outside.
Firstly, to play sports safely in hot weather, you must drink water. Sports drinks are great for athletes(运动员), but they have so much sugar that they'll dehydrate(使脱水)you more. However, drinking a few bottles of sports drinks will be good for you.
Secondly, be sure to take enough breaks to let your body rest. If your coach doesn't let you take enough breaks in the heat, don't wait until you feel uncomfortable. Just be honest with your coach when you need breaks.
Thirdly, when you have a break, don't sit in the sun. With the sun beating down on you, you'll only heat up and sweat(冒汗)more. Take a seat under a tree, or even better, go indoors for a little while.
Cooling yourself down can help you stay active longer.
Fourthly, remember that the earlier in the day you start your exercise, the cooler it will be. If you can start practice before the sun comes up, you have a few good hours to practice in the cool hours of the morning. Also, the earlier you practice, the earlier you can finish the exercise. If you need more practice time, come back to the field later in the evening, when the sun is setting.
Last but not least, you should watch what you eat. Eat food which is high in water, starch(淀粉)and carbohydrate(糖类), but be sure to get a good balance(平衡)in your diet.
As long as you pay attention to the above, playing sports safely in the heat isn't a difficult thing.

In China, no other food can appear more often (频繁的) than hotpot(火锅) on Chinese dinner table.
Hotpot is becoming popular for ages, because of its special ways to cook. From vegetables to meat, from noodles to seafood, people can put different ingredients (食材) they like into the hotpot. Unlike other cooking ways, boiling(煮沸) food can make its nutrients(营养) get into the soup. This way can make full use of all the ingredients.
But eating hotpot is much more than an enjoyment for our taste or health. People usually eat hotpot with family or friends. For most Chinese people, eating hotpot is usually an important social activity(社交活动). When a group of people sit around a table to eat, talk and drink, it’s a good time.
As a popular saying goes, “There’s nothing to worry about after having a hotpot. If you are still worried, then go for it twice.” So if you feel worried, why not cook a hotpot and make your heart comfortable as well?

As the Shenzhou-13 spaceship docked (对接) with China’s space station on October 16, 2021, Wang Yaping became the first woman astronaut to work on the space station. She would spend six months there, along with Zhai Zhigang and Ye Guangfu. Wang would also become the first Chinese to take a spacewalk. 2. Besides (此外), she would give a class on the space station, encouraging young people to follow their space dreams.
Wang’s dream of flying to space as an astronaut was inspired by Yang Liwei who became China’s first space travellers in 2003. “Now China has its man in space. When will our country have its first woman?” Wang thought. She was then working as a pilot in China’s air force (空军).
In January 1980, Wang was born in a small village in Yantai, Shandong Province. Shen flew a plane for the first time when she was 18 years old. As a pilot, she flew 1,567 hours in all, including flying to help with the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake relief (救灾) work and the 2008 Summer Olympic in Beijing.
In May 2010, Wang became one of China’s first women astronauts. She achieved her space dream in 2013 by taking the Shenzhou-10 ride. During her 15-day flight, Wang taught China’s first lesson from space. Over 60 million primary and middle school students across the country enjoyed her lesson.

Wang Yaping, one of astronauts of the Shenzhou-13 spaceship, has finished her six-month space station mission (任务) and returned safely on April 16, 2022. Wang Yaping became the first woman astronaut to work in the space station. She also became the first Chinese woman to take a space walk.
When China sent its first astronaut Yang Liwei into space in 2003, Wang was a pilot in the Chinese army. From then on, her space dream started. She worked hard and got the same training as men. Finally her space dream came true in 2013 by taking the Shenzhou-10 spaceship. During her 15-day fight, Wang gave China’s first lively physics lesson from space. Over 60 million primary and middle school students enjoyed it. And many of them wrote to Wang to express their interest in space science. This time, she gave another lesson in the space station, encouraging young people to follow their space dreams. Meanwhile, she also picked stars for her daughter to share with her classmates.

Astronauts deliver class in space
Students enjoyed the latest science lecture from astronauts on board China’s Tiangong space station on March 23, watching them show unique physical phenomena in the orbiting spacecraft.
During the 41-minute class, which was live-streamed (现场直播) worldwide by China Media Group, the astronauts carried out four experiments (实验) to show physical phenomena. In one experiment, Wang used a toy of Bing Dwen Dwen, the popular mascot of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games, to show how objects fly in a weightless environment.
Before closing the lecture, the astronauts answered questions solicited from members of the public and raised by students at the ground venues.
The Shenzhou XIII mission was launched (发射) on Oct 16, 2021 by a Long March 2F carrier rocket that blasted off from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwestern China’s Gobi Desert, with the crew soon entering the Tiangong station.
It took them more than five months to work in the station, and they are scheduled to fly back to Earth in the middle of next month at the end of China’s longest manned space mission.
