The epidemic(疫情) changes our lives in many ways—the way we study, work, or even how we greet each other and celebrate holidays. Let’s take a look at the safer greeting ways.

No more kisses

Too many kisses are not good for now. France says that people should not kiss each other on the faces. Just looking into a person’s eyes can be a greeting.

Wink(眨眼) at others

In Italy, a woman makes a video. In her video, if you want to say hello to others, you can wink at them with one eye. It’s a cute way.

Pat(拍打) on the back

It’s usual to shake hands in Australia. But if you do this now, you may get ill. An officer says a pat on the back may be better.

Tap(轻敲) feet together

There is a popular way to greet others in Iran(伊朗). In a video, two Iranian men meet and tap their feet together. They wear masks and put their hands in their pockets. It looks like they are playing a fun game.

Now people around the world stop using the usual styles and try safer ways. We shall all work together to help stop the epidemic.

【推荐3】If someone says to you, "give me five", don't give five yuan to him! It will make others laugh! The person isn't asking for your money, but your fingers.

In the U.S.A., "give me five" or "give me the high five" is a good gesture (手势). You can see it often in films or on TV. It means the slapping (拍打) of each other's right hands together. People do it when something happy happens. For example, if a student does well in exams or gets No. 1 in his school sports meeting, he will give high fives to his friends to celebrate.

Who did this gesture first? Why did he do that? It may come from the old Roman (古罗马的) gesture of raising(举起) the right arm for the emperor (皇帝). This showed that the person raising his arm had nothing in his hand and he couldn't hurt the emperor.

Why not try to give the high five to your friends?
