I am Jenny Green. I come from the USA. I’m now a student in Grade Eight. My father is a doctor in a hospital. My mother is a teacher in my school. She teaches Chinese.

For me, it is very busy from March to May. On March 8th, it is Women’s Day. I want to help my mother cook dinner. On March 22nd, it is my father’s birthday. There is a big party for him in my house. I want to buy him a T-shirt. On April 1st, it is April Fool’s Day(愚人节), I will think up some jokes(笑话). On the second Sunday of May, it is Mother’s Day. I want to buy my mother a brown dress. How’s your day? Let me tell you something about my new life in Australia. I live in a small city with my parents in the south of Australia. My home is far away from the school. Every morning, I take the subway to school. It takes me about one and a half hours to get to school. There is a post office, a bookstore and a library near my school. I usually go to the library to read some interesting books after school.

At about 5 o’clock in the afternoon, my mother always drives her car to the library to pick me up. And then she drives me to a restaurant and we have dinner together（一起）. After dinner, my parents usually watch TV and I have to do my homework.

She is Becky’s mother. She is 35 years old. She can’t speak Chinese, but she can speak English. They are doctors. They work in the same hospital. There is a girl in the picture, too. She is Becky’s sister. Her name is Betty. Becky and Betty are in the same school, but they aren’t in the same grade. They look like their father. They are American. It’s a big family.

Self-introduction

I have twin brothers, Tim and Tom. They look the same. They both have brown hair and blue eyes. They always wear the same jeans and T-shirts. So many people can’t tell them from each other.

They not only wear the same clothes but also do the same things. For example, they both like listening to pop music，watching soccer matches and playing computer games. They go to watch soccer matches every weekend. They like to play computer games every night, but our mother doesn’t allow(允许) them to do that because they have a lot of homework to do.

They are twins, but they are also different in some ways. For example, Tim works hard at school, and he always gets good grades, but Tom is much less hard-working than Tim. Tom likes talent shows because he thinks they are relaxing, but Tim likes news, because he wants to find out what’s going on around the world.

Our mother is very busy. She is often away from home because she travels a lot for her job, so I have to take care of my twin brothers at home. But I think it is fun to have twin brothers.

Time is very important in our lives. It organizes our everyday moments. However, time never had any importance in my life before I received a watch from my father.

I received this gift on a cloudy day. I had to go to the airport at 9:00 a.m. to meet my uncle and take him home. However, I was late because I was staying with my friends. Later on that day, around 11:00 a.m., remembered my uncle, but I was very late for him. He had left the airport and taken a taxi to my home.

I got home at 2:00 p.m. and felt sorry of myself at that moment. After I said “hello” to my angry father and tired uncle, my father asked me to sit next to him and gave me this watch. Then he said, “Andy, did you have fun with your friends today?”

“Yes, Dad, and I’m sorry about not meeting my uncle at the airport.”

“I hope today you learned something important, and this watch will be a reminder(提醒物) for you.”

“This watch is important to me, not because of its price, but because of the lesson that I learned from it.”
