A lot of people around the world enjoy jogging. Jogging means running slowly, but it is still faster than walking. In the mornings and evenings, you can see people jogging in parks or along city streets. Jogging is cheaper than many sports—to start, just get some comfortable sports clothes and good running shoes.
①我喜欢与我的朋友Tommy和Anna一起慢跑。In the early mornings, we often go jogging in the park. Then we are ready for school. At weekends, we sometimes go jogging in the countryside. It is more fun than jogging in the city and we feel good in the fresh air. ②The more you go jogging, the healthier you will feel. Just try it!

What does the underlined word “It” refer to?
All over the world people enjoy sports and take part in different kinds of sports. Sports help to keep people healthy and happy, and to live longer.
Many people like to watch others play games. They buy tickets or turn on their TVs to watch the games. Often they get very excited when their player or team wins.
Sports change with seasons. People play different games in winter and summer. Swimming is more comfortable in warm weather, but skating is more fun in winter.
Sports and games often grow out of people’s work and everyday activities. The Arabs use horses or camels in much of their daily life. They use them in their sports, too. It is the same with people in Xinjiang. Millions of people hunt and fish for a living, but hunting and fishing are very good sports, too.
Some sports or games go back thousands of years, like running or jumping. Chinese Wushu, for example, has a very long history. But basketball and volleyball are rather new. Neither one is a hundred years old yet. People are inventing new sports or games all the time. Water–skiing is one of the newest in the family of sports.
People from different countries may not be able to understand each other, but after a game together they often become good friends. Sports help to train a person’s character. The more you do sports, the healthier and happier you become.

Is it better to shower at night or in the morning? Personally, I do both, but which is the best way to go? Let’s have a look and see…
Shower at night
You’ll wash off the dirty of the day.
If you’re out all day and sweaty or taking exercise, you should shower before going to bed. You can take off all the dirt picked up during the day so you can be clean and feel fresh when you go to bed.
You’ll have better sleep.
Several studies have shown that taking a shower in the evening and at least 90 minutes before sleep will allow your body to heat up and cool down in time for a better sleep. It will relax your body and prepare you for sleep.
You’ll have better skin.
Your skin grows at night. A full-body shower at night will make it much easier for your skin to keep the dead skin cells away.
Shower in the morning
It sets up your day.
You wake up half asleep, still tired… coffee doesn’t seem to be working, so why don’t you take a shower instead? It can wake you up and help you get your head in the game.
It is great for morning exercisers.
Also, if you work out in the morning, a shower can help you warm up your body.
It helps your skin.
You can wash off all the oil and sweat during your sleep and feel fresh and clean all day. A morning shower can make your skin appear healthier and make you feel more confident.
So, the conclusion is: there’s not a huge difference in when you decide to shower. Whatever makes you feel better, that’s what you should do.

Cover your coughs and sneeze with tissue

Wash your hands frequently and properly. Wash your hands with soap and running water thoroughly for at least 15 seconds.
Before eating and after using the toilet
After coming back home
After touching trash or garbage
After contacting with animals or handling animal wastes
Strengthen your immune system

In the southern part of China, eating qingtuan at the beginning of spring is a kind of tradition for people. The Chinese began to eat it more than 2000 years ago. Making it really takes time and energy, and it is very delicious due to its softness, freshness and sweetness. The secret behind its mouth-watering(令人垂延的)taste is one of its materials—mugwort leaves(艾蒿叶). The plant is mainly found in the Yangtze River Delta(长江三角洲)where it has perfect conditions to grow.
Now, qingtuan has already spread its special taste to the north of China. Li Yuan, a 30-year-old engineer who grew up in Zhejiang Province, brought qingtuan back to Beijing where he works. “It tastes different in and out of my hometown.” he said. “There’s no place like home.”
Qingtuan becomes more and more popular across the whole country. Even though there is warm weather and green leaves in spring, the season wouldn’t be complete without a taste of qingtuan. So it makes the start of the spring this year.

A yearbook is a type of a book published annually (每年), recording and remembering the past school year. Many schools publish yearbooks.
The first yearbooks appeared in the 1600s. They were only scrapbooks (剪贴薄), because photography was not really around until the 1820s. Since there were no pictures, people would fill the books with notes, articles, flowers, and even hair to remember events.
The first formal yearbook was published by Yale University in 1806.
Yearbooks are generally edited by a student club. The yearbook staff usually has one or more editors responsible for collecting and editing all of the information.
Most yearbooks include individual photographs of students and information on sports and other activities.
In the US, yearbooks often cover the whole school and not just the senior class. Senior photographs are usually larger than those of underclassmen and are sometimes attached by text about their achievements throughout high school and their future plans.
In the UK and other countries, yearbooks often only cover the final year group and not the entire school. Each student has more space for answers to different kinds of questions as well as their photos.
Today, yearbooks are also evolving. With the help of QR codes and websites, we are able to add videos and slideshows into the book for students to look back on recorded events. Many schools are simply dropping physical yearbooks and turning to digital yearbooks.

Four kinds of friends
I once believed that a friend is a friend “all the way”. Now I have changed my ideas about friendships.
Friends of convenience(便利). They can be the people who live next door or the mothers of our children’s closest friends. They will help us when we need it. They will look after our cats when we go on holiday. But we don’t ever get too close or tell too much. We keep our public face and emotional(情感的) distance, which means that we’ll talk about being overweight but not about being happy or sad. However, people still feel these friendships valuable(珍贵的) to them.
Special-interest friends. These friendships aren’t deeply personal or emotional. Their value lies in some shared interest, so we may have an office friend, a tennis friend, or even a shopping friend.
Historical Friends. We all have a friend who knew us well when…, maybe we were back in the second grade of primary school, when our family lived in that two-room flat downtown. He or she was the first, the only friend we told our secrets to.
The years have gone by, and we have gone different ways. We have little in common(共同)now, but we are still a personal part of each other’s past. We know how we looked before our teeth were straightened, and our getting together helps us remember an earlier part of ourselves, which is important and never lost.
Cross-generational(代) friends. These are friendships that from across generations. I have in my own life a precious(珍贵的) friend, a woman of 65, who is wise, who listens well, and who represents(代表) not only an ideal mother to me but also the person I’d like to be when I grow up.
Best friends, I believe, totally love, support and trust each other.

A report in a newspaper says that school accidents, such as food poisoning (食物中毒), fires, electricity and traffic, kill more primary and middle school students than anything else.So we must learn how to protect ourselves better. Here are some tips for keeping safety in mind every day.
On our way home or to school: Wait for the green traffic light, and look left and right before we cross the road.
A. We’d better wear bright-color clothes, so the drivers can see us easily.Don’t believe strange people in the street. At school: When students around us begin to push each other, we need to stand still and try to hold onto something, or stay in a corner until the crowd(人群) leaves. If we fall down in a moving crowd, use both hands to cover the head.
B. Lean(斜靠) to one side, curl up (蜷缩) our body and bend (弯曲) the legs.In a fire: Stay calm.Leave the classroom quickly under the directions of the teachers.Smoke can be more dangerous than fire, so use a piece of cloth to cover our mouth and nose. What will we do if the clothes burn? Remember not to run! Drop and fall to the ground.
C. Then roll! It will make the fire go out.For eating: Wash fruits carefully before eating them.Check the expiration dates (保质期) on the packages of the snacks, and if it looks or smells bad, don’t eat it.
