It seems that food deliverymen are always in a rush. They wear blue, red or yellow helmets(头盔)and many of them don’t follow traffic rules. They drive on the wrong side of the road and run red lights. They use mobile phones while driving.
However, not everything goes well with food deliverymen. In the first half of last year, food deliverymen had 76 traffic accidents in Shanghai. That means every two and a half days, a food deliveryman will die or get hurt on the road.
What makes deliverymen take such risks? The strict rules of the food delivery service companies and the anxious customers(焦虑的顾客)may be the answer. Many companies will fine(罚款)a deliveryman up to 2,000 yuan if he fails to deliver an order on time, reported by China Daily. Fines also go to those who get bad reviews(评价)from customers.
To solve the problem, food delivery service companies need to improve their incentive systems(激励制度), noted CRI Online. Some cities are also taking action. Shanghai has asked companies to train their deliverymen on traffic rules and safety. Now in Shenzhen, if a deliveryman gets caught breaking traffic rules more than twice, then he will be banned(禁止)from driving food service delivery vehicles(车辆)for a whole year.

The world’s longest cross-sea bridge --- the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, opened to public traffic at 9 a.m. on October 24. The 55-km-long bridge links(连接) China’s Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR). Zhuhai City of Guangdong Province and Macao SAR (澳门特别行政区).

Vehicles such as cars, buses and so on should pay the road toll( 通行费). People can pay the toll through ETC or Hong Kong express. Travelers can also pay by using Alipay, WeChat or RMB.

Generally, people should not make noise with chopsticks. Playing with chopsticks is seen as bad manners, just as playing with forks and knives in a western country is impolite.
Some people believe that chopsticks should not be left standing upright in a bowl. It looks like the incense (香) that Chinese people use to honor the dead. Doing it at the dinner table is believed to bring bad luck.
You should not knock chopsticks on the edge of the bowl either, as beggars (乞丐) do this to ask for food. Parents might get angry if children do this as they don’t want their children to be as poor as beggars in the future.
Besides, chopsticks can also be a great gift. In Chinese, “chopsticks” are known as “kuaizi”, so new couples feel happy to receive chopsticks as a wedding gift. Skilled people paint beautiful pictures on chopsticks to make them look like fine artworks.
Today, even some people from western countries are learning to use chopsticks and like to collect them.

The researchers asked 25 university students to join in their sleep research. They were asked to get a good night’s sleep for two nights. A week later, they were asked to sleep for only four hours every night for two nights.
The researchers took make-up free (素颜) photos of the volunteers after both the good and the bad sleep. Next, they asked 122 strangers to have a look at the photos and judge (评价) them on attractiveness, health, and sleepiness, as well as ask them, “How much would you like to make friends with this person in the picture?”
The strangers were good at judging if the person they were looking at was tired, and if they were sleepy, their attractive score was low. The strangers also said they wouldn’t want to socialize with the tired students. The researchers say this is natural for people. An unhealthy-looking face makes people run away. In other words, people don’t want to hang around with people who might be ill.
Dr. Brewer, an expert at the University of Liverpool said, “Judgement of attractiveness is often unconscious (无意识的), but we all do it, and we are able to judge on even something small like, whether someone looks tired or unhealthy. This study is a good reminder of how important sleep is to us.”

Sleepwalking happens during deep sleep. Your child might get out of bed and walk around as if he’s awake, but he won’t respond normally to you or anything around him. This may make you sad. But try not to worry—your child is OK.
In fact, sleepwalking is quite common. 7% to 15% of children sleepwalk, and it doesn’t usually mean that there’s anything wrong with them. Children aged 4 to 12 are more likely to sleepwalk. Both boys and girls sleepwalk.
Sleepwalking often happens in the first few hours of the night. When it happens, your child’s mind is asleep. However, his body is awake at the same time.
Sleepwalking usually has something to do with age and development. However, some things can increase (增加) your child’s sleepwalking. For example:
●Bad habits that cause poor sleep
●Fever or some other illnesses
●A family history of sleepwalking
●Medical conditions that cause (引起) poor sleep
If your child is sleepwalking at least once every night, it’s best to see a doctor. Also see a doctor if your child’s sleepwalking is influencing the sleep of other family members, or if you’re worried your child might hurt himself while sleepwalking.

I never travelled with my family. When I was a teenager, I saw movies like Lawrence of Arabia and they made me want to travel very much. I left college at the age of 21 and went to Europe alone. That trip didn’t go well. You know, I was too young and didn’t know how to look after myself at that time.

Why is take-away food (外卖食物) getting so popular? Because take-away food apps make ordering food quick. Also, some people are busy with their work so they have no time to cook. Some don’t know how to cook, and others don’t want to cook. In the UK, people eat 3,00,000 take-away food a day.
