【推荐1】We all know that some pollution problems are still serious in the world. Everybody is worried about the change of the climate. But few of us realize that noise pollution is doing harm to our health seriously now. Noise has a direct effect on us, but we seldom notice its harm. More and more students enjoy listening to music with an earphone on their ears. When they listen to the music, they like to turn up the volume(音量), while watching TV, they often turn up the sound of the TV to the top. They haven’t realized that the noise is weakening their hearing.

Noise pollution is a source of increasing sadness to people in our society. Noise can be said as a kind of unwanted sound. If people are often disturbed by it, they may feel uneasy or annoyed. What’s worse, the noise can make some people mad. If a worker works in a printing factory for long, his hearing loss is much faster than a common person working in a quiet environment. So everybody must pay more attention to the noise pollution. Generally speaking, the following four types of noise should be watched out for:

●Noise in the Street

●Construction Site Noise

●Noise at Work

●Transport Noise

I think the local environmental protecting department(部门) should answer for controlling the noise levels. But it’s everybody’s duty to keep a quiet environment.

【推荐3】阅读下面短文,从短文后的五个选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。每个选项只能用一次。

When throwing away rubbish, do you know which bin(垃圾箱) it should go in? Have you ever noticed the differently-colored bins on the street?

Some of you might not be able to answer this question.    1    Knowing how to sort(分类)waste can make it easier to save energy and protect the environment.

If you don’t sort your waste, all of it will go to a landfill(垃圾填埋场)and be buried(埋)together.    2     But some waste, like the metal part of a pen, can be used to make other things if they are properly recycled.

3     For example, Shanghai announced that within three years, people should sort their waste into four groups: wet, recyclable, harmful and dry.

4     Paper, metal, glass and other things that can be reused are recyclable waste. Harmful waste includes things like medicine and batteries.    5

Now that you know this, perhaps you can do your part to protect the environment and encourage others to sort their waste.

A.“Wet” waste is also known as household waste.
B.However, it’s actually quite important to know how to sort your waste.
C.Finally, any waste that’s not wet, recyclable or harmful will go in the “dry waste” bin.
D.The waste you throw away, such as batteries(电池), can pollute the earth and groundwater.
E.With this in mind, many cities in China have carried out waste-sorting activities in recent years.
