Han got on the icebreaker at Bluff Port in New Zealand on Feb. 16. The ship was planned to land in Argentina after 33 days of sailing. Finally, the ship got a permission from the Uruguayan (乌拉圭的) Government and it landed in Montevideo, capital of Uruguay.
Although he got to the shore, he still faced difficulties getting back to China because many flights had stopped flying. What’s more, he ran out of face masks. Then he asked the Embassy of the Peopled Republic of China in Uruguay for help. The embassy gave him 20 face masks, gloves and preventative materials.
He bought flight tickets, first from Uruguay to Santiago, then to Mexico City, to Hong Kong and finally to Shanghai. Unfortunately, when he got to Mexico City, the flight to Shanghai had been canceled and Hong Kong had also stopped transfers (中转). He had to find a hotel in Mexico City and prepared for a long stay in the city.
