【推荐1】In 1957, the first spaceship was sent up to travel around the earth, and it started the time of Space Age. Years later, astronauts traveled around the earth and men walked on the moon. Today, space exploration continues, and governments try hard to make new discoveries. However, there has been one big change: private companies are entering the field of space travel.

SpaceX has been very successful in space travel. They made the spaceship to work for the International Space Station (ISS). Elon Musk, the boss, wants to do more. He hopes that SpaceX will be able to send people to Mars by 2025.

Another fan of space travel is Sir Richard Branson. His company is called Virgin Galactic. He wants to open space travel to everyone. The company has sold almost 700 future trips to space at a high price. The tourists come from countries all over the world and are of different ages.

These private companies are lucky. They don’t have to wait for money from the government. However, they also have problems and accidents happen sometimes. In 2014, a Virgin spaceship fell down during a test flight. The 39-year-old pilot was killed. In 2016, another SpaceX spaceship exploded (爆炸）. No one was hurt, but important parts of it were lost.

The exploration of the space continues. Some companies want to take people to the moon and back someday. Others want to take people to Mars. The possibilities are endless. Maybe in our lifetime, those dreams will come true.

②Humans have different and mixed feelings, but it’s hard to tell what’s going on inside the heads of animals, mainly because they can’t express their feelings in words. Perhaps it’s pets that we think we understand most—as they are the animals we spend a lot of time with and therefore get to know best. Some of us own dogs because they are good companions (陪伴). We might even think they love us, although love could just happen between humans.

③Professor Bard said, “We have a few studies now that actually show that some pet dogs will have the ability to share their owner’s feelings when he—but not a stranger—pretends (假装) to cry.” This kind of ability of pet cats, however, hasn’t been found out yet.

④Other wild animals might have feelings too. Giraffes and whales, for example, are known to experience sadness when someone in their group dies. They are also believed to experience other feelings. Their happiness is now taken into consideration more. And in the UK, a new law means all crustaceans (甲壳纲动物) will be recognized as animals which are able to see or feel things through senses. Research is beginning to show they experience a wide range of feelings.

⑤Writing for BBC Future website, Zaria said, “Wild animals can be positive, selfish or frightened just like any pet would.”

⑥If we understand the deep feeling of the animals, this should make us question the fact of being present of zoos and slaughterhouses (屠宰场) around the world, and rethink those systems.

⑦Although studies show that all animals have feelings, what is not clear is whether they feel the same way as us.
