It’s common for people to have the idea, believing that happiness will come after reaching certain goals. This can include things like getting a promotion, finding a romantic partner, or reaching a certain level of life success. While these achievements can certainly bring some happiness, this way of thinking can lead to an endless cycle of waiting for the next thing to bring happiness.
The truth is that happiness should not be dependent on material achievements but rather a choice we make in each moment. By linking happiness with outside factors, we often lose sight of the present moment and miss the joy that can be found in everyday experiences. It’s important to realize that happiness is not something that can be achieved in the future, but rather a state of mind that we can keep at present. By being present, we can appreciate the simple pleasures in life, like the warmth of the sun on our skin, the laughter of loved ones, or the taste of a delicious meal.
Life is indeed filled with challenges, which are an important part of our journey towards personal growth. They often push us out of our comfort zones and force us to think creatively and find new solutions, providing us with opportunities to learn, get valuable experience and discover our inner strength. By embracing these opportunities to learn, we can grow and become better equipped to handle future challenges instead of always waiting for the perfect moment or for all our problems to be solved before allowing ourselves to be happy. When we understand that challenges are not difficulties to our happiness but rather opportunities for growth and learning, we can appreciate the present moment and find happiness regardless of the situations.
Rather than waiting for future events to bring happiness, it’s better to accept the present and find joy and contentment in the journey itself. Let’s grasp the opportunity and embrace the joy that is within our reach. Time waits for no one, so why wait to be happy?

At the foot of the tree, there was a little plant. The plant was thin, and seemed to be blown down by any of a little wind.
One day, the two neighbors were having a little chat.
“Well, little one,” said the tree to the plant, “why not put your feet deeply in the earth, and raise your head high in the air as I do?”
“I see there is no need to do so,” said the plant with a smile. “In fact, I think I may be safer in this way.”
“Safer?” said the tree. “Are you safer than I am? Do you know how deep my roots are in the earth and how strong my branches are? Who can possibly pull me out by the roots or bow my head to the ground?” And the tree didn’t want to say anything to the weak plant.
But the tree was to regret its words very soon. One evening, a great hurricane(飓风) came. It blew the trees off their roots and almost destroyed the forest completely. It uprooted(将……连根拔起)the mighty tree and blew it away with great force.

Clothes seem to be one of the causes of these conflicts. Either you want to buy too expensive ones, or you look like a homeless person—parents want you to dress smartly and seldom understand your style. Some other times it’s your behavior that makes your parents unhappy.
In Britain today, more and more young people want to be independent and leave home between the age of 16 and 20. Some are students; others run away to avoid their homes which are overcrowded and unhappy. They go in search of work or of a more exciting life.
We asked Phil Tillinghurst, 17 years old, to examine his life, the good and the bad things about being his age.
He said, “I don’t know whether this is the best time of my life because I still have got the rest of it to go, but until now it’s been good. Having said that it’s also one of the most difficult times because you already have to take important decisions about what you are going to do, what subjects you want to specialize in, what career… That’s why this is the time for trying out the different things that you think you may like, so that you can find out what you are best at for the future. You also have the chance of being almost an adult but still getting away with being young. Your parents don’t treat you like a child. they trust you more… I know that parents are only worried about what’s happening to you, but sometimes they really worry too much… I get on OK with my parents. A lot of people think that boys have more freedom than girls, but in fact I know some girls that have more freedom than I do. I have many friends and their parents are stricter than mine. They have to be back at a certain time and there’s no ‘but…’ about it. I have no major problems, though money is always a problem. Everyone is always running out of money these days, but that’s about it.

The sign said: Yesterday the person who has been hindering your growth in this company passed away. We invite you to join the funeral(葬礼) in the room that has been prepared in the gym.

In early September, anger over a makeup brand’s eyebrow pens (眉笔) lit up the Internet. Some people thought that they were too expensive as it cost 79 yuan to get three pens. Shortly after, Bee & Flower started to sell three large bottles of hair care products for the same price. It showed that Chinese products could still be cost-effective.
Many Chinese brands took their chance by selling through livestreaming (直播). What’s more, they also helped sell each other’s products. For example, hosts of sports brand Erke washed their hair with Bee & Flower products on Sept 13.
Liu Xing, from Beijing, said she bought the hair care products after learning about their quality (质量) and the brands’ history last week. “The packaging of these products may not be as nice as those of big brands, and the companies may not be able to afford the expensive ads, but the quality of the products and their prices surprised me. I wish I’d known about these old Chinese brands earlier,” Liu said.
▲ . Why? For one thing, they think that the products of these Chinese brands are good to use and don’t cost much. Also, it makes buyers feel proud. They can help these old brands “come back to life” by buying the products. Buyers believe in these brands and will use their money to help them grow.
However, livestreaming events should only be a start. How can brands keep people interested? Good products with good prices. The brands shouldn’t take advantage of people’s trust. They should turn it into a reason to make their products better.

Here is my advice.
Plan your time carefully. You should plan your time for such things as eating, sleeping and dressing. Then make a good regular time for studying. Don’t forget to set enough time for tests.
Keep your study quiet and clean. The study should have a desk, a chair and some study materials, but no games, no radio and no television! When you sit down to study, you can put your heart into it. Make good use of your time.
Listen to everything that the teacher says. Listening carefully in class means less work later. Taking notes will help you remember what the teacher says.
Develop a good attitude(态度)to tests. The purpose(目的)of a test is to show what you have learned about a subject. It helps you know what you are not good at. The world will still go on even if you fail in a test, so don’t be too worried.
