Asher Angel, an American child actor, was born on 6th September 2002. He has a dream of becoming a professional full-time actor in the future. He has performed in more than 10 theatre productions. Most of the time, he is occupied. His workday is from 9 am to 6 pm during the week. “I go to sleep when I get home, with weekends off,” Asher said. However, he loves animals and always finds time to help them.
Asher and his family became interested in animal rescue(救援) after their beloved dog, Avery, died from illness. They volunteer at a local animal rescue centre called Home Fur Good. Asher walks, feeds and plays with the dogs at the rescue centre.
At home now, Asher has three dogs, one cat and two hamsters(仓鼠), and they are mostly rescued pets. He loves all his pets and could not imagine his life without them. His acting work keeps him away a lot, but he loves to play with his dogs as soon as he gets home. They are super excited to see him every time. Asher has a special relationship with Monet Belle, one of his dogs. He says, “Her eyes look like a human’s, and I can talk to her. She comforts me when I need her.”
Asher is really excited about his new role in Andi Mack, because Jonah Beck, a dog character in this production, is a lot like him: thoughtful and sensitive(敏感的). They got the chance together to learn to play Frisbee(飞碟), which was really fun.

We would like to complain to you about the noise from our neighbour, Mary, in Room 402, and we hope you can do something about it.
We live in Building 1. Our neighbour, in Room 402, often holds(举办)parties in the evening.
Sometimes it is very late. You know, we are students and we must go to bed at 10:00 p.m.
Every morning we have to get up early, at 6:00 a.m. And half an hour later, we must go to school. The noise from the party is always a problem and we can’t go to sleep. We often feel tired and want to sleep in class. We tell her not to do that, but it is no use. So, we are writing this letter to you. We wish to have a quiet night. If you can’t do anything, maybe we will have to move out of this building.
Yours Sincerely,

People usually see cats and dogs on a plane journey in the US. But one woman, from Michigan, US, took her miniature horse on board for his first flight in first class.
The miniature horse, called Fred, is a trained therapy and service horse. Fred's owner, Ronica Froese, said that the journey was from Grand Rapids, Michigan to Ontario, California. “I know one thing,” he said to himself. “I’m going back to that little pond(池塘) again tomorrow. And I’d like to go alone. If I tell my father what I saw today, he will want to go with me. I’m not sure that is a very good idea.” Sam was eleven. His last name was Beaver. He was strong for his age and had black hair and dark eyes like an Indian. Sam walked like an Indian, too, putting one foot straight in front of the other and making very little noise. The swamp through which he was traveling was a wild place. There was no road, and it was soft and wet underfoot, which made walking difficult.
Every four or five minutes, Sam took his compass(指南针) out of his pocket and checked his way to make sure he was going in a right direction. Canada is a big place. Much of it is wild land. To get lost in the woods and swamps of western Canada would be a serious matter. As he trudged on, the boy’s mind was full of the wonder of what he had seen. Not many people in the world have seen the living place of a Trumpeter Swan(黑嘴天鹅). Sam had found one on the lonely pond on this day in spring. He had seen the two great white birds with their long white necks and black bills(黑嘴).
Nothing he had ever seen before in all his life had made him feel quite the way he felt, on that wild little pond, in the presence of those two large swans.
They were so much bigger than any bird he had ever seen before. The nest was big, too. The female(雌性) was sitting on eggs; the male walked slowly back and forth, guarding her.

So why did I find myself standing, two weeks later, at Lishe Airport? Tearfully, I watched our oldest child disappear through the security checkpoint. In four hours’ time, she would be in Beijing. It’s 1,300 kilometers away from Ningbo!
There comes a time when you have to let your baby go—for many parents. It’s around the age of 15. We know that there is likely to be something more dangerous than hanging around by the pool, but the time would come to trust that they have already grown up and can be independent.
But I still felt worried. Rose tried to put my mind at rest. She said she and her friends would always look after one another and that it really was all going to be okay.
After we had waved our last goodbye at the airport, I looked back. To my surprise, she was looking back at me, too. Teenagers want to cut free, but it’s a frightening business for them, too.
We made Rose promise to send messages as soon as she had arrived in Beijing and she should do that at least once a day. At around 9 a. m. the next morning, her first message came through. It was twelve hours since I had left her at Lishe. But all I got was: I’m here.
I wish it was safer than I thought before. But like all the dangers that life can hold for them, all you can do is to warn them, warn them again, warn them once again.
Luckily, Rose showed up at Lishe Airport 5 days later. My husband and I were really excited when we saw her. I know it was the time that we should trust she could take care of herself.
