Have you ever been cycling (骑自行车运动)? This spring my elder brother and I     1     (spend) a long weekend cycling in the countryside. We rode     2     (slow) along because we didn’t come to break any speed records, or to do sports. We just wanted     3     (get) some fresh air and a break from schoolwork. We rode along country roads with     4    (excite). And there was one of the best things about our trip that made us happy: every few    5    (kilometer) there was a village where we could find everything we needed.

All the local people were really friendly. However, on the     6    (two) day, something happened. We     7    (go) down the hill when my brakes (刹车) started making a noise, but I didn’t mind at all. Suddenly I fell off the bike, it was     8    (break). I had to walk home with my bother. We were tired when we set off the next morning, but soon felt cheerful when the sun came out.

What we enjoyed     9     (our) most about cycling is—it’s simple and fun. I think nothing is     10    (good) than cycling if you’re looking for a break that is active and cheap.

Why not have a try?

While being on my year abroad, I have tried to collect small things such as train tickets, postcards, and I have been taking lots of photographs.   Living in    1    (法国), I take the metro（地铁） every day. I have my own personalized map on which I have    2    (圈出) all of my favorite restaurants, cafes, parks and other places. I have even colored it to say if these places have    3    （免费的） wi-fi or lunch deals. What I plan to do with all these things is making a scrap book.

For those of you who have never heard of the word “scrap book”, it’s an    4     (空的) book which people usually take away with them on holiday, and fill it with “scraps” of paper, tickets, maps,    5    (邮票）, photographs etc. It is like a memory book. You will always have the memories of your favorite places and why you liked them so much, all in your scrap book! It is really    6    (有价值的) to own it if you ever want to    7    (回到) to that place. My scrap book started in September and after eight months was    8    （几乎） full!

Why not create a scrap book of your time while traveling? Isn’t it nice to be able to open a book of your life and time    9    (作为) a traveler? You can’t imagine how happy you can be by just looking at an old ticket with a special    10    (日期) on,   or a napkin from your favorite restaurant. It’s the little things that can make you smile.

The Dubai Mall is one of the     1    (big) shopping centers in the world. It took four years to build. There are over 1,200 shops and 120 restaurants and cafes.     2    also has a 250-room hotel, 22 cinema screens, an ice rink and an underwater zoo! Over 750,000 people visit the shopping center every week.     3     if you are one of those visitors, you can     4     (easy) get lost. The Dubai Mall is a really large area!

Also, finding your     5     can be a problem. Two of the three car parks have more than ten     6    (floor). One woman with heavy shopping bags spent three hours     7     for her car. Then she was tired, so she     8     (drop) the shopping bags and got a taxi home!

After that,the Mall started using a computer system     9     (help) drivers who can't remember where they parked their car. They type in the name of their car and the registration number. The computer looks for the car     10     cameras which are on each floor of the car park.A picture of your car appears on the screen with a map that shows you how to get to it.

Burano is a beautiful island in Italy. It is probably one of    1    （colorful）places in the world. It is popular with visitors    2    all over the world. Lots of visitors choose to visit it when they are free. When you visit Burano，you can see a lot of houses in bright colors. Every house is beautiful and it    3    （look）like a castle.

The local（当地的）people can paint their houses in bright colors，    4    all the houses must follow a special color pattern.    5    you paint your house，you must ask the government first. The government will tell you the certain color you can use. There are some other interesting rules. For example，if your neighbor's house is red，the government will not allow you    6    （paint）your house red.

For the local people，painting their houses has become a tradition so far. In    7    past，most of the local people were    8    （fisherman）. They painted    9    （they）houses in bright colors so that the fishermen could see the houses in the fog（雾）    10    （clear）. See？Colors were useful in their life.

Shanghai, on the east coast(海岸) of China, is one of the biggest cities in the country. Its population(人口) is 13 million. Shanghai is on the Huangpu River. There are many beautiful parks     1    (像) the Yu Yuan Garden. Pudong is a     2    (新的) part of Shanghai. With lots of tall     3    (建筑物) like the 468-meter-high Oriental Pearl Tower. Putuoshan is a small island in the East China Sea,     4    (在……附近) Shanghai.

Dianshanhu Lake is in the Qingpu District, in the Western part of Shanghai. It is     5    (更大的) than the West Lake in Hangzhou. It is also     6    (受欢迎的) with visitors. Behind it is the old town of Zhujiajian. There is a high     7    (大山) in this old town. There are 36 very old     8    (桥) across the rivers here. If you walk     9    (穿过) the city, you will find it is a very interesting place to     10    (参观). Welcome to Shanghai.
