You cannot stop what people say. What you can do, however, makes a difference. Dealing with criticism, should we accept or refuse?     1     It all depends on you.

Ask yourself how the criticism influences you. Will you lose something important because you are criticized?     2     So, don’t worry about it. Instead, some criticism help you improve in fact. Don’t be afraid to accept criticism. No one likes to be told that he is wrong. Yet, every person has ever been criticized for something.     3     You may have received some strong criticism, but it doesn’t mean that you are foolish, or that you don’t have the ability to do something properly.     4     And you won’t be too nervous about what people think.

Consider where the criticism comes from. Is the person just trying to offer useful criticism? Then think it over and get what is useful for you. On the other hand, there are persons who offer their advice just to be useless.     5     You needn’t be angry about that.

Do your best. And if someone doesn’t like what you’ve done, so what? It’s either valid（有效的）criticism or invalid criticism. But you have the power to decide how you will allow it to influence you.

【推荐2】According to a new survey, students’ safety has become a big problem. Nearly 50% of students say they are worried about robber（抢劫）on the way to and from school. Now in many big cities in China, some schools have taught an unusual lesson: self-protection. Students like this lesson because there are no exams or boring classes. ★If you are robbed

Keep calm. If you can not cry for help or run away, give the robber your money. Try to remember what the robber looks like and tell the police later.

★lf you are in a traffic accident

If a car hits you, you should remember the car number. If it is a bicycle, try to call your parents before you let the rider go. This is because you don’t know how seriously you are hurt. If it is raining hard and there is lighting, don’t stay in high places and stay away from trees.

Get away as fast as yon can. Put wet things on your body and try to find an exit. Do not take the lit.

Many young people become discouraged when they know in themselves qualities that they do not like-selfishness, laziness, and other unpleasant qualities. Just remember that we all have some of these faults and have to fight against them.

At the same time, it is important to remember that, while you are probably no worse than others, the best way to be happy is to think yourself above other people. When something is wrong, it is good sense to try to make it right. Perhaps you don’t like a teacher or a classmate. Try to see why and look at yourself, too, to be sure that you are not doing anything to make that person dislikes you. Some day, things may turn out all right and then you will have to learn to get along the best with situation, without thinking too much about it. Worrying never helps in a situation you can’t change.

Plan your time carefully. When you plan your week, you should make a list of things that you have to do. After making this list, you should make a schedule. First set your time for eating sleeping, sports, etc. Then decide a good and enough time for studying. Don’t forget to leave some time for fun. ▲ Weekly schedule may not make you the best, but it will make you know what is happening to your time.
