The 2022 Winter Olympics is coming! If you were a reporter, how would you report it?

On Oct. 22, Ms. Chen came to our school and gave     1     (we) a speech on how to write news reports. At the beginning, she told us different kinds of news. She also talked about how to make the news     2     (interesting) and more eye-catching—we can use attractive headlines or funny pictures, and we need to choose interesting     3     (thing) to write the story.

With this knowledge, I can interview some skiers who are preparing     4     the Winter Olympics if I want to write news about skiing. I can ask them how hard they practice every day, and what their goals are for the Winter Olympics.     5     I find a foreign athlete, I can also ask them about the trip to China. Do they like Chinese food? Do they enjoy     6     (travel) in Chinese cities?

The last step, as Chen said, is to organize the content (内容) we have interviewed into an article. The     7     (one) sentence should be interesting enough to make readers interested in it. And there should be many     8     (story) in the article. You can also make an outline (提纲) before writing.

How to write news reports is     9     important skill. Even if we may not become professional reporters, it     10     (be) useful for writing in the future. Thanks to Ms. Chen, we have learned a lot from the speech.

Welcome home! On Sept. 25^th, Huawei’s Chief Financial Officer (首席财政官) Meng Wanzhou arrived     1     Shenzhen, Guangdong, after being illegally held (非法拘押) in Canada for nearly three years. Her safe return shows China has the ability     2     (protect) Chinese people and companies. On Dec. 1^st, 2018, Meng had to stay in Canada     3     the US charged (指控) her and wanted to take her to the US. Meng pleaded not guilty (不认罪) to the charge and finally left Canada     4     (safe) on Sept. 24^th. It was     5     hard time for her which was full of struggle in Canada. But when she     6     (land) at Bao’an International Airport, the     7     (warm) of home almost made her cry. She waved her hands to the crowd while she     8     (walk) down the plane. She expressed her thanks to the Chinese government and also Chinese people. She said it was a valuable experience in     9     (she) life. As the saying goes, the    10     (big) the difficulty, the greater the growth.
