4 . Hello, I’m Nancy. I’m a student of Guangming Middle School. My school is very beautiful and it’s a good school in my town.

The school is very large with a garden. There are many flowers and trees in the garden. Some birds often sing in the trees. It’s a good place to have fun. I often play games with my classmates there after class. There are three buildings in my school. Two of them are teaching buildings, one is a library. My classroom is so bright that I’m so happy to study in it. My classmates like the library best. It’s very quiet and I enjoy reading there, too. When I read books, time goes quickly. There is a big playground behind the teaching building. You can see some boys play basketball on the playground after school. Besides, our teachers are friendly to us. Although they’re very strict with us, we love them very much. Students always help each other.

What a beautiful school! I’m so happy to study in my school.

5 . In Mexico, about seventy-five percent-of people are fat. A study earlier this year showed about eight percent of children under 5 years old were too heavy, and the obesity rate (肥胖率) among children aged 5 to 11 reached 19%. Being heavy during early years is bad for children’s health. The heavy kids face the risk of suffering from serious illness (疾病).

To help solve the serious problem, students in many schools of the country are using a new kind of desks with bike pedals (踏板). When students take classes, they can do some exercise at the same time. It is good for losing weight.

For students at a high school, they can get more than exercising. “When we are using the new bike desks, we can listen more carefully and do better in class,” said a 13-year-old student. “This is really amazing!” Sanjuanita Garcia, the headmaster of the school told the reporter that the new bike desks were better for the boys who can be heavier easily.

There are two classrooms with the new bike desks in the high school now. Soon, they will add the new bike desks to all 21 classrooms.

It is said that the price of each bike desk is about 964 yuan, which is one fifth of the price of similar desks in Canada.

A Every Monday morning, students gather there to listen to the principal’s (校长) talk. It’s also the place for students to play sports when the weather is bad. They can even watch shows there.

B Students have their breakfast and lunch there. They can pick up snacks and stationery (文具) there, too.

C Besides the 20 classrooms, there is a library on the third floor. Also, there are rooms on the first floor for students to gather for group activities.

D Students spend time there making art and music. There is also a computer center and a science lab on the top floor.

E The court is popular with basketball players during breaks and after school. It’s also open to the public on weekends.
