The story of the English language goes back a really long time. Way back in history, different groups of people from far-off lands came to live in what is now England. They all had their own unique ways of speaking. As they started living together, their languages mixed and changed. There people created (创造) early English by blending (混合) languages.
As time passed, early English kept changing. Around a thousand years ago, the Vikings, who came from places like Denmark and Norway, invaded England. They brought new words and sounds that got mixed into the language, making it more interesting and colorful.
Then, in the year 1066, the Normans, who were from France, conquered (征服) England. They spoke differently from the people in England and brought many French words with them. These new words blended with English, adding more variety and richness to the language.
As people from England traveled to other lands, they took their language along. English spread across the world and became one of the most spoken languages.
Today, English is used by millions of people in many countries. It continues to change and grow. The history of the English language shows how different languages mixed together over many years. The journey of English is a fascinating tale of diversity (多样性), change, and adaptation (适应) through the ages.

My Ideas on English Learning
Millions of students are learning English every day.Project-based learning (项目化学习) is learning while doing. It gives learners the chance to get a deeper understanding of a topic. During the learning, learners solve problems by using real-life experience. Students work on a project over a period of time-from a week to a term. At the end of the project, they show their knowledge and skills by creating a product, or holding an activity for people. Let’s take the example of Susan. Susan is an eleven-year-old student in Sunshine Middle School. She wanted to know more about Hanfu culture. It took her about a month to work on the project. Well, how did she make it? Step 1 Choose a topic She chose Hanfu culture as the topic because she was interested in beautiful clothes. Step 2 Do the research To collect information, she read books and articles about the history of Hanfu culture. She watched videos and shows all connected with Hanfu culture. Step 3 Create a project She was really good at art, so she created a book about Hanfu from different dynasties (朝代). In her book, she drew pictures of them and wrote introductions in her own words. Step 4 Do the presentation After all of that work, she "made a presentation in class wearing a set of Hanfu that she bought online. Then she shared her videos on the Internet. Through project work, students benefit; a lot. So if you’re interested in something, why not start with project-based learning? |
2. How long did it take Susan to work on the project?
3. What topic did Susan choose?
4. Why did Susan create a book about Hanfu?
5. Where did Susan share her videos?

9 . Good study habits are important for all students. When you have good study habits, you will learn faster and have a good memory. It is useful to have a good memory. When someone says he has a good memory, it means that he keeps practicing by using it.
Do you usually study in the living room? This is not a good place for study because it is usually too noisy. You need to study in a quiet place, such as your bedroom. A quiet place will help you learn well. Before you begin to study, do not forget to clean your desk. I think it is necessary to put away your things. It helps you study well, too. Enough light is good for your study. You will feel tired easily if there is not enough light.
Of all the good study habits, one has developed: asking questions is the key. Just ask. No one knows everything, but we can always learn from others by asking questions. Another simple but helpful habit is to tell yourself what you are studying for. Put your dream grades on your desk. It means you will see and think about it every day.
When do you work best? Are you an early bird or a night owl (猫头鹰), or something in between? Find your most productive work time and then plan to study at the time. I believe you will make great progress in your study.
