I began to learn English at an early age. I chose to study English for three main     1    . Firstly, I think it is necessary to have some knowledge of a foreign language nowadays and English is     2     widely in the world.     3    , I want to study in London someday. Thirdly, I like reading very much. It’s great to be     4     to read some English literature works.

During my first two years of studying in a language learning school, I learned more about English and made great     5    .

The first year in the language learning school was very difficult     6     me. I had trouble learning English vocabulary (词汇). I spent several hours every week on word cards.     7    , this special way of learning English words did not work well for me. There were still many mistakes in my test papers. I had to do more grammar exercises and correct     8    . In the end, I managed to get lots of “C” in my tests.

The next year, I got more “C” in English tests. However, I wasn’t as     9     about getting “Ds” or even “Fs” in English tests as used to. The lessons seemed easier and the classes also seemed more interesting to me. I     10     more time using the language in activities like role play and less time on grammar practice than the first year.
