I love Shanghai. Even before I m    1     here, I was already in love with the city. Shanghai is known as the “City of Adventurers（冒险家）” and the “Pearl of the East”. When I a    2     here, I wasn’t disappointed. The people here were full（活力）. And with the bright lights of Pudong, the city really shone like a b    3     pearl.

This was my view of Shanghai many years ago. Today, my l    4     for the city has only grown. The city has never s    5     improving（提升）. Now, the Shanghai government h    6     to make it one of the greatest cities in the world.

What makes a city great? First, it must have a good economy（经济）. It also has to be a h    7     place with a good environment. And, most of all, a great city must have great people.

Shanghai has always been an international and f    8     city. Even though I don’t speak Chinese, it is so easy to talk to the people here. I have felt the w    9     of the city and its people. Shanghai, I believe, will become even greater in the f    10    .

It’s children’s     3     place — they always play there when they’re free. If(如果) you love food, you can go to the     4     on Mill Street. Oh, there is a nice café(咖啡厅) in     5     of it. Next to the café is a flower(花) shop. It     6     all kinds of beautiful flowers to people. There is a sports center     7     the supermarket and the post office. Many young people like to     8     time exercising there on weekends. If you enjoy     9    , you can go to the library on Victoria Street. It’s near the hospital.

Hello everyone! I arrived at my hometown yesterday by car.

My grandparents live in a small town fifty kilometers away     1     Guangzhou. At eleven, I got there. They     2     an hour cooking in the kitchen for me. In the evening, they told me a lot about their daily life.

They showed me around the town. The town is different now. Trees and flowers     3     everywhere. I think the town is more     4     than before. The town is a perfect place for a holiday,     5     why not come with me next time?
