1 . My hometown is a beautiful city — Yangzhou. It’s a small city in Jiangsu Province.

This is Yangzhou, an old city, an old garden, a new city and a new wonderful park.

Hangzhou, together with five other     1     (city) in Zhejiang, has hosted the 19th Asian Games     2     Sept. 23 to Oct. 8. Before the Games, Hangzhou     3     (use) many ways to make their city look better. The city also tried its best to make traffic better. The city now has much     4     (wide) roads and lighter traffic.

“The Small Lotus” is one of the main places for sports events. On the top of it, there are eight petals. They can open and close     5     (easy). It takes 15 minutes for each petal     6     (open) and close.

Self-driving buses were used during the Games, too. The smart buses start     7     (run) only by themselves. Surprisingly, the highest speed of them can be as far as 50 kilometers in     8     hour. Teddy likes traveling very much. He is going on a two-day visit to Shanghai this May Day.

The 19th Asian Games were held in Hangzhou and five other cities in Zhejiang. As the main host city, Hangzhou     1     (surprise) the world during the Games. Now let’s look at two venues（场馆）for the Games.

One of the main venues is Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center. Located on the southern bank of Qiantang River, it is     2     (wide) known as the Big Lotus, because it looks like a lotus flower（莲花）from the outside.

The Big Lotus     3     (make) up of 28 big lotus “petals（花瓣）” and 27 small lotus “petals”. When light shines through them, the “petals” can give people different     4     (feel) by showing different colors. The Big Lotus is the third     5     (large) stadium in China and it can hold 80,000 people at a time. Not far from the Big Lotus is the Tennis Center of Hangzhou Olympics Sports Center. Like     7     (it) neighbor, it’s also in the shape of a lotus flower, so it is called the Little Lotus. Unlike the Big Lotus, the top of the venue can be opened and closed according     8     weather conditions. When the top is opened, the venue is like a blooming（盛开的）lotus flower.     9     an amazing scene!

There are many famous places to visit in London. The most famous one is “Buckingham Palace” b    1     it’s the Queen’s home. “Tower Bridge” is over 100 years old and you can see it when you take a b    2     trip on the “River Thames”.

London has lots of things for families to do together. If you want to go s    3    , Harrods is London’s most famous store but it’s very e    4    . However, you’ll find that some markets s    5     some very nice things and they are much cheaper. And you must visit “Hamleys” because it is London’s best toy shop. You can buy anything from anywhere around the world in London.

What about food? There are many restaurants in London, but the “Rainforest Cafe” is very good f    6     children. When you go into the restaurant, you will see paintings of the forest and a    7     everywhere! You will feel that you are just in a zoo. And in summer it’s very nice to t    8     food and drinks to have a picnic on one of London’s lovely green parks. London, a European city, is the capital (首都) of England. It is     1     big and famous city with a long history. There are many people in this city and they are friendly and helpful. They are always happy     2     (tell) visitors about their city.

The weather in London is nice. In winter it’s not very cold and in summer it’s not very hot     3     the city is near the sea. But London is also a foggy city (雾都) and it often has     4     (rain) days. People there often go out     5     an umbrella.

London is also a beautiful city.
