Plastic pollution is one of the most serious environmental problems all over the world. Many countries are looking for ways to solve the problem. On November 7, 2022, China started a “Bamboo instead of Plastic” project with the International Bamboo Organization. It will hopefully reduce plastic pollution.
Bamboo is a plant of great value, such as cleaning air and preventing soil going away. Unlike trees which usually need a long time to fully grow, bamboo can be put into use in 3 to 5 years. As long as it is protected well, bamboo can be cut every year and doesn’t have to be replanted. Bamboo can be used to make different kinds of products. These products can take the place of plastic products in many ways. And the cost of these products are usually quite low compared to the plastic ones.
