Dear Andy,
My family and I want to take a trip this summer somewhere in eastern China. I hope you can provide me for some
information about the kind of vacations that your firm can offer. We would like to travel to an
excited place and it has to be a place where we can
do much outdoor activities;
We especial love hiking and swimming, but any kind of outdoor activity
were fine. We also need to stay in
a inexpensive hotel or apartment.
It would be nice unless we could get a room with a kitchen to save money
by cook our own meals. The room needs to be big enough for three people. Could you please give me some suggestions for vacation sports?
How can we do during three weeks?

I love reading. I spent over seven
hours a week read different types of books.
On weekdays, I usually read for about half a hour
before going to bed. I read a lot on the weekend.
I am interested about history books, but I like novels
best. The four great classical China novels are my
favorite. I get most of mine books from Sunshine Library.
It is just opposite my home. My friends give me lot of
advices on books. We often meet together and discuss
what to read. We think reading is always a wonderful time.
Good books are good friends. They help me relaxing after
a busy day, They also open up a whole new world to me.

The Winter Olympic Games are usually held every four year. Beijing
and Zhangjiakou hosted the 2022 Winter Olympic Games together on
February, 2022. In the Games history, Beijing became the first city to
have hosted all the Summer and Winter Olympic Games. During the
games we knew a lot of sports players. Beside them, some other people
were also very important, but you might never noticed them during the
games. They were ice makers. They needed to be careless about the
temperature. If the temperature was too high, there would have water on
the ice and it would affect the games. They checked and clean the track
during breaks in the games to make sure each game went good.
Last month, my English teacher asks me to
take part in a English speaking competition.
I didn’t believe if I had the ability to win or not. It
is known to all my classmate that I can always speak
English as better as a native speaker, but I am
always too shy to express my ideas, especial in public.
My best friend Lisa has been encouraging me accept
the challenge. On her opinion, as long as I try my best,
I will make it. After hear this, I have decided to have a try.
I hope I will be luck.

Now, AI (人工智能) is smart enough to checking loneliness in humans.
A new study shows how AI can know the degrees of loneliness from a person
words. 80 people aged 66 to 94 took part in the study
actively, because they often feel lonely. They were asked
20 question, such as “How often do you feel lonely? and How often
do you get together with your friends?” They honest answered.
The interested thing is that it uses dictionary-based methods.
At example, it can look for words to show fears. It also gives answers
by testing their words. If people felt lonely, their answers to
loneliness were longer. It also shows difference between men
and women. If a man felt lonely, he used much words to show his fears.
If a woman felt lonely, she expressed her lonely feelings directly.

Hello, boys and girls! Today, I am going to talk about how
you should do when a fire alarm go off in our school. If you hear
the alarm, stand in line at the door and wait to your teacher to
lead you outside. Stay close to your teacher and classmate. Don’t
be nervous and get out of the line. Don’t run everywhere. Try to
keep quietly. If you notice that someone is missing or hurt, tell
my teacher immediately. Soon the firefighters will come and put
out a fire. If it is not a real alarm and there is no fire, your
teacher will lead you back to the classroom. Safe is important for
all of us, so please remember what I say just now. Thank you.

Will it matter if you don’t have breakfast? A short time before, a test was given
in some places. People of different ages from 12 to 83 were ask to have a test.
During the test, some people had all kinds of breakfasts and some got not breakfast
at all. Scientists wanted to see how good their bodies worked when they had
different kinds of breakfasts. The results show that if a person eat a right breakfast,
he or she will work better than those who have nothing. If a student has egg, fruit,
bread and milk before going to school, he will listen much carefully in class.
Having nothing for breakfast will not help you lose weight. This is why people
become such hungry at noon that they eat too much for lunch. So they will
put on weight instead of lose weight! So, let’s eat a right breakfast from now on!

Are you still doing the “V” when you take photos? A “V” is out. The
latest popular way is putting all of your hands together to make a heart-shape.
It is called “hand heart”. The “hand heart” often mean something between “I
love you” and “thank you”. You can send a sweet message by doing the simply
“hand heart”. Some days before, Justin Bieber and his superstar friends did the
“hand heart” and put the photos online. We did it to help out three kids whose
parents were killing in a car accident. Sometimes, people also put their hands
above their heads but make a bigger heart shape with their arms to show “I
love you”. Body-language culture improves very slowly in the past. But now, it
moves fast than before because of the use of the Internet and smart phones. |
