Polytechnic Museum, Russia
For many guests of the capital, some of the most vivid childhood memories are associated with this museum. A variety of technical fields are presented in 65 halls-Mining, Space, Energy, and Transportation, etc. And the exposition（博览会）is the only museum project in Russia about the history of the bike. In this museum you can see more than 100 thousand different items from windmills（风车）to medical equipment. All aspects of industrial production appear before the eyes. Several museum rooms are arranged especially for children-there are exhibits that entertain kids starting from three.
NEMO, the Netherlands
The largest Dutch research centre stands ready to share its secrets with everyone. This immersion（沉浸）in the world of science and technology will not be dull. All significant information is presented in the form of exciting games. All exhibits are interactive; visitors are allowed to touch, pull and press on anything. The museum is for children from 6 to 16, as well as for their parents-it will be interesting to all.

2 . Last fall, I went to New York for sightseeing. I visited many tourist attractions there, and I also saw many unfortunate citizens on the street, like beggars and homeless folks.
Standing outside the Metropolitan Museum of Art, I heard a voice ask, “Can you do me a favor?” When I turned around, I saw an elderly blind woman with her hand extended out. Naturally, I reached into my pocket for some change immediately and placed it in her hand without even looking at her. I was really annoyed at being bothered by a beggar. What I only thought at that moment was to send her away.
But the blind woman said with a warm smile on her face, "I don't want your money. I just need you to show me the way to the subway entrance."
In an instant, I realized what I had done just now. Her unexpected words took me by surprise and shame. I had acted with prejudice ——I'd judged another person simply for what I assumed she had to be. I felt ashamed of myself and couldn't face the old woman anymore. And I felt small beside her.
The incident reminded me that I believed in being humble, even though I had lost that belief for a moment. The thing I had forgotten about myself is that I am an immigrant. I left Honduras and arrived in the U. S. at the age of 15. Through the years, I have experienced many acts of prejudice. I remember a time at the age of 17 when I was a busboy, I heard a father tell his little boy that if he did not do well in school, he would end up like me. But now, living my American middle-class lifestyle, it is too easy to forget who I am and where I have been, and to lose sight of where I want to go. It is the blind woman who cured me of my blindness.

4 . 2020 Journalism Workshop
Learn print,radio,television,digital
Washington,DC area high school students are invited to apply to the Washington Association of Black Journalists' annual Urban Journalism Workshop. WABJ has been guiding the next generation of journalists since 1986 through this program. UJW was started by longtime Chicago Tribune and St. Louis Times Dispatch reporter George Curry and former Washington Post reporter Athelia Knight. During the workshop, students learn the fundamentals of print, radio, TV and digital journalism. Current and former professional journalists with The Washington Post，NPR and other media companies volunteer to teach participants. A scholarship is offered for qualifying seniors.
● Sessions are held for eight continuous Saturdays from 29 February—18 April；9 am—4 pm.
● Scholarship criteria includes an essay, stories produced in the workshop, class attendance and participation in all eight sessions.
● High school students, all classifications, in the greater DC area are encouraged to apply.

Art Tells a Story： By looking at the subject matter and by drawing from personal experiences， students can find the story in some works of art． （ All grades）
Learning to Look： An interactive（互动的）tour that explores a variety of art using storytelling， movements， music， games， and other techniques helps introduce children to a museum． （Preschool～ Grade 3）
Native American Collection： This program explores relationships that exist between art， culture，the geographic location and natural resources． Students will see a bowl made by Maria Martinez， a Towa storyteller， a Northwest coast mask， and Inuit clothing． （ For Grades 2～5）
The Language of Art： Classes are welcomed into the museum to take part in an interactive tour of American Art． It gives participants a new set of vocabulary while helping them feel comfortable．

8 . When the weather’s hot, do you enjoy a glass of Brad’s Drink while watching your TV made by Tokyo Telecommunications Engineering, and surfing the web using a search engine called BackRub? No? Neither do I. That’s because all these companies have changed their names.
Brad’s Drink is now Pepsi. The mouthful that was Tokyo Telecommunications Engineering has become, simply, Sony. And BackRub is now known as Google. Though I must admit, the idea of a back massage does sound good right now!
Joking aside, choosing the right name for your start-up is a serious matter. Think of the case of a small Canadian company called Research in Motion, who in 1998 had just developed a high-tech mobile phone that could send emails.
They were torn between names like MegaMail and ProMail. Then they sought the help of consulting firm Lexicon, who specialize in brand names. They had other ideas. They brainstormed words connected to enjoyment and freshness. Someone said.
Lexicon’s boss added two capital letters, and there you have it: BlackBerry was born. Since then it has sold over 33 million handsets to customers around the world. Would it have sold as well if it was called MegaMail? Who knows?
Recently, BlackBerry sales have been overtaken by Android phones and Apple’s iPhone. Lexicon’s founder David Placek is a big fan of simple brand names like those Apple chooses: the iPhone. They l0ok a household word and by putting one letter in font of it, it ends up being game changing.
So, for all you entrepreneurs(企业家)out there, make sure you allow time to develop a catchy and memorable name. Think about what makes your company different. What’s your USP (独特的销售主张) ? Maybe you can reflect that in your name.
