2 . Chocolate is good for your heart, skin and brain. Usually, people think that chocolate is bad for their health. They describe chocolate as “something to die for” or say “death by chocolate”. Now they should bite their tongues! Evidence(证据)is showing that some kinds of chocolate are actually good for you in the following ways:
Scientists at Harvard University recently examined 136 studies on cocoa—the main ingredient(成分)in chocolate and found that it does seem to strengthen the heart.
Better blood pressure
Jeffrey Blumberg from Tufts University recently found that people with high blood pressure who ate 3.5 ounces(盎司) of dark chocolate per day for two weeks saw their blood pressure drop quickly.

The Internet brings us many advantages.
Internet use seems to cause a fall in psychological(心理的) health, according to research at Carnegie Mellon University.
The fact that Internet use reduces time used for family and friends may be the reason for the drop in health, researchers said. Faceless, bodiless “virtual(虚拟的)” communication may be less psychologically satisfying than actual conversations, and the relationships formed through it may not be so deep.

5 . Having an older brother comes with plenty of benefits. Big brothers tend to look after their younger brothers and sisters, and despite the occasional unpleasant moments here and there, many siblings(兄弟姐妹) enjoy life-long close relationships. However, a new study finds an interesting disadvantage. Children with older brothers take longer when it comes to developing language skills.
Researchers studied more than 1,000 children from birth to the age of five-and-a-half years old. Each child’s language skills were tested at ages 2, 3,and 5.5,using tests specially designed to measure lots of aspects of language development such as vocabulary, syntax(句法), and verbal(文字的)reasoning. What the research team discovered was significant. Children with an older brother had, on average, a two-month delay in their language development compared to studied children with an older sister.
As far as explaining this phenomenon(现象), researchers have proposed two assumptions. The first is that older sisters tend to talk more often than older brothers, which would compensate(补偿)for parents potentially being less present than they were for their first child. The second assumption is that older sisters usually compete with their siblings less than older brothers for their parents attention. The study’s authors say they can’t say for certain why children with older brothers have a harder time developing language skills. In the future they would like to study if culture or location impacts the prevalence(盛行)of these results.
The study is published in Psychological Science.

8 . The world’s largest radio telescope was finished on Sep. 25, 2017 in China.
FAST is a five-hundred-meter telescope. It is also called Tian-yan (“The Eye of Heaven”), with a dish the size of 30 football grounds, deep in the mountains of southwest China’s Guizhou Province. The giant dish is built on a howl-like valley.
The surrounding area has “radio silence” as there are no towns and cities within a 5-kilometer radius (半径范围) and only one county center within 25 kilometers.
FAST is made up of 4, 450 panels (面板). The second largest radio telescope is in Russia. The bigger dish will be able to pick up weaker signals (信号).
The radio telescope is like an ear, listening to tell meaningful radio messages from white noise in the universe. With the help of the telescope, we can receive weaker and more radio messages far away in space. It will help us to search for intelligent life outside of the Galaxy (银河系) and explore the origins (起源) of the universe. “Any of its discoveries will lead to a Nobel Prize, ” said Joseph Taylor, a Noble Prize winner.
The FAST project began in 2011. And the telescope is expected to remain the global leader for the next 10 to 20 years.

10 . A table-waiting robot cat built by a Chinese technology firm can carry plates of food, show customers around a restaurant, miaow at diners and even react to having its ears touched.
Making its first appearance at the 2020 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, the so-called BellaBot was built for Chinese restaurants lacking enough waiters.
It has four shelves in the centre of its tower-like body to carry plates. Having been loaded up with meals by its human workmates, BellaBot miaows when it delivers food to diners to encourage them to take their plates. If customers thank BellaBot by touching its ears, it will respond with a look of pleasure on its screen, which displays(展示)animations of a cat’s face.
“The owner’s hand is so warm, ”BellaBot has been programmed to respond.
However, much like a real cat, the robot’s reaction soon changes if it is petted for too long.
“It gets mad to remind you not to interrupt its job, ”the designers introduced.
In a real-world food-service setting, however, BellaBot may find it difficult to operate at the busiest times. Anyway, restaurants are expected to increase their relying on automatons(小型机器人)—whether in the form of robotic waiting staff or not.
Furthermore, improvements in technology will see consumer robot designs grow steadily better at communicating with humans and dealing with new activities.
