3 . About BC Book Prizes
The BC Book Prizes, established in 1985, celebrate the achievements of British Columbia writers and publishers.
The Prizes are presented annually at the Lieutenant Governor’s BC Book Prizes Gala in the spring, with the winner of The Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Literary Excellence being announced beforehand at the annual BC Book Prizes Soiree (an evening party).
The Prizes are administered and awarded by members of a non-profit society who represent all facets (方面)of the publishing and writing community.
General criteria.
· The book must have an ISBN(International Standard Book Number).
· The book must have a print run of at least 350 copies.
· The book must be at least 48 pages long unless it is a children’s picture book in which case it must be at least 24 pages long.
· The book must show in print that it was published in the appropriate eligible (有资格的) year.
· The main language of the book must be English.
· Three copies of the submitted book must be provided for the judges for each prize category entered.
· Submissions must be made using the BC Book Prizes Official Entry Form.
E-book specific criteria in addition to the general criteria.
· E-books are accepted for submission to the Ethel Wilson Fiction Prize category only.
· A Signed statement of verification (确认) of copyright must be provided.
· The book must have gone through a professional editing process.
· Three printed copies of the e-book must be provided for the jury.
Expectations of finalists and winners
· The publishers of finalist books will be expected to participate in the shared cost of ads announcing the finalists. Cost per book is $100.
· All publishers, authors and illustrators are invited to attend the Soirée, which is a free event.
· Tickets to the Lieutenant Governor’s BC Book Prizes Gala are not provided to finalists, so must be paid for by the authors/illustrators or their publishers.

As the second on the planet by size, the Hangzhou Public Bicycle System is one of the most common and useful shares, largely because it’s combined with public transportation: a single card can be used in subway, bus, taxi and bike sharing. Residents and tourists can put down a deposit of 200 Chinese Yuan (about $29) and ride for an hour for free in this scenic city. Each additional hour costs only $0.15. It was also the first new-generation bike-sharing system in China.

Barcelona’s Bicycling Program developed Spain’s bike-sharing business in a big way. This program took off like wildfire on wheels, and because four times bigger in one year. It inspired different copycat programs all over the country. Today, Spain has 132 bike-sharing systems. The program is one of the world’s most respected and popular shares. But it is only open to residents and tourists are not allowed to use them.

PetWise Award
The PetWise Award project is a fun, free educational resource (资源) aimed at primary-aged children, although anyone is welcome to take part. It not only teaches students how to keep their pets happy and healthy but also about careers where they can work with animals.
