While taking a look at this city, you may see the best bike sharing in the world. As the second on the planet by size, the Hangzhou Public Bicycle System is one of the most common and useful shares, largely because it’s combined with public transportation: a single card can be used in subway, bus, taxi and bike sharing. Residents and tourists can put down a deposit of 200 Chinese Yuan (about $29) and ride for an hour for free in this scenic city. Each additional hour costs only $0.15. It was also the first new-generation bike-sharing system in China.

City: Barcelona

Launched: 2007

Price: $61.93 per year

Barcelona’s Bicycling Program developed Spain’s bike-sharing business in a big way. This program took off like wildfire on wheels, and because four times bigger in one year. It inspired different copycat programs all over the country. Today, Spain has 132 bike-sharing systems. The program is one of the world’s most respected and popular shares. But it is only open to residents and tourists are not allowed to use them.

Bike sharing in Paris is the star of the world. Launched in 2007, it is the world’s largest outside of China. Cheap by American standards, you can ride around Paris on a $1.7 day pass—the first half hour of each trip is free. Because this system covers the city with an average of 50 stations per square mile, it’s a favourite with both locals and tourists.

Observe live experiments at our Chemistry Bar, see lightning strike before your eyes, play with forces on giant slides or travel through space under a canopy of stars. You can also take part in explosive science demonstrations led by our talented team of explainers. With 50 mind-blowing wonders of science to enjoy, Wonder Lab is an experience unlike any other. Besides, a selection of shows will be performed daily in Wonder Lab’s beautiful new show space. They are free of charge and last 20 minutes.

Day pass: £6 per person.

This ticket gives you day-long access to Wonder Lab, perfect whether you’re planning a special trip to the Museum or simply passing through London and want to feed your curiosity.

Annual pass: £10 per person.

Opening times

Open seven days a week, 10:00 — 18:00 (last entry 17:15). Wonder Lab will be closed on December 24, 25 and 26 and will be open as usual from December 27. During school holidays our opening hours are 10:00 — 19:00 (last entry 18:15). Please note that in peak periods (from midday onwards) we are experiencing long queues due to the gallery’s popularity.

Whether you are a beginner or already a regular runner, these apps will come in handy for planning routes that avoid busy places on your next run

Strava

Just put in whether you’re running or cycling, how far you’d like to go and whether you’re keen to avoid hills, the app will then suggest a number of routes near you, based on where other runners have been. It is a good way to see running routes you might not have explored.

Komoot

As you plan the route, it’ll work out the distance of your run and give you the option to input your running speed, allowing the app to work out how long the route shall take you.

Map my run

Map my run gives runners the option to plan their own route, or the ability to search through popular running routes near you, which is even more helpful for beginners. The app gives you the option of saving your favourite routes and accessing them on the app if you get lost mid-run.

OS Maps

Another hugely popular map-building platform, OS Maps is pretty high tech when it comes to planning a running route. You’ll need a subscription to get some of the features, but using the free app you can find local running routes. There are almost two million routes stored in the routes database, and many of them are free.

5 . Summer Teen Volunteer Opportunities

Bloomington Parks and Recreation offers an excellent opportunity for teens to get involved and make a difference in their community by volunteering within a variety of summer youth programs. Summer Teen volunteers assist with activities under the guidance of experienced staff and gain valuable leadership skills. In the summer, teens can apply to volunteer in the following programs:

Summer Adventure Playground Program Volunteer

Information: Help facilitate opportunities to play and lead playground participants (in grades 2 - 7) in games, sports, arts       and crafts, and make new friendships.

Information: Help to assist with the supervision of preschoolers —1st graders in a social occasion.

The View Volunteer

Program Dates: June 14 — August 6 Location: Valley View Elementary School

Information: Help to assist with supervision of 2nd - 5th graders in a social recreational setting.

Camp Kota Junior Counselor

Program Dates: June 14 — August 9 Location: East Bush Lake

Information: Help campers learn basic outdoor skills while meeting new friends, singing crazy songs and having tons of fun.

8 . Kid-friendly attractions & hands-on museums

Washington, D.C.'s wealth of museums and attractions means there are always magical places where kids are transported from the “Ho-hum” of touring to the “Wow!” of experiencing. Many of these sites feature interactive exhibits (互动式展品) and entertainment to help attract the attention of even the smallest sightseer. Begin your exploring with these family-friendly museums and hands-on attractions.

National Geographic Museum

Animal lovers young and old will look forward to a visit to the National Geographic Museum, which is near Farragut West. There are changing exhibits that always feature work by great photographers, as well as exhibits that show the efforts of international scientists to protect the natural world's resources and animals. Children under 5 are free.

National Air and Space Museum

The National Air and Space Museum on the National Mall offers daily programs involving science experimentation. Kids are welcome to make and fly their own paper airplane, look through a real telescope with astronomy experts, watch a show at the Planetarium, climb in an aircraft, or watch an IMAX film.

National Building Museum

Kids can learn how engineers construct architectural wonders by using soft blocks in the Great Hall of the National Building Museum. Little ones will love the Building Zone, where they can drive a bulldozer (推土机) and build a house.

Renwick Gallery

Take the kids to the Renwick Gallery, which hosts the Smithsonian American Art Museum's amazing collection of decorative art, and start a completely new conversation between kids and art.
