2 . Every year, toy companies from around the world gather at the Toy Fair. The event this year is magical and exciting. All the toys on show are developed with fun and learning in mind. Here are some of the best items at Toy Fair 2020.
The best toy for babies: Baby Shark Dancing DJ
We have all listened to the Baby Shark song, but that doesn’t mean that kids have fully understood it. The Baby Shark Dancing DJ will be available in the fall. This toy plays five Baby Shark songs and includes two games, so it will be sure to get little feet moving.
The best coding toy for kids: Botley 2.0
The Coding Robot Coding toys had a big year at Toy Fair, especially as kids today are being introduced to coding earlier and earlier. That’s where Botley 2.0 comes in. The latest Botley comes with a remote control with simple commands: forward, back, quarter-turn, and so on. So kids will have to pay attention to their surroundings before entering in the data to get Botley to perform the actions they want.
The best toy for preschoolers: BriteBrush by WowWee
There is nothing like a game to make brushing teeth more fun, and BriteBrush by WowWee is intended to teach kids how to brush their teeth well by using musical games to strengthen good habits and using songs to help kids learn about proper brushing techniques.
The best Star Wars toy: The Child
Baby Yoda, or The Child, swept Toy Fair this year as a must-see item. The Child is as completely lovely as The Mandalorian in the Star Wars.

You might be surprised at how much you can gain from the apps on your phones. Here we’ve chosen four apps that can act as personal language tutors.
Duolingo
The app boasts a simple learning system and easy progress tracking. Plus, it makes all these educational features available for free. If you want an ad-free experience and other extras, you can pay for Duolingo Plus. The app encourages you to keep going, even if it’s just for a few minutes each day. The exercises are interesting, switching between different types of practice in order to test your reading, listening, and speaking as you progress.
Rosetta Stone
This app especially suits people who have time to si t down and dedicate blocks of time to language learning. We like this app’s clever and intuitive (易懂的) use of flashcards, as well is its pronunciation training exercises.
Memrise
With a colorful, friendly interface (界面) and a gentle learning curve (曲线). Memrise is perfect for those who want to learn the basics of a language. And as a little confidence booster, Memrise displays summary screens at the end of each exercise, tracking your progress to fluency.
Babbel
Babbel provides a mix of conversational topics that teach you how to use the language in real-life situations. Its combination of repetition and variety has been carefully adjusted, However, the app’s interface isn’t quite as polished as some of the other options. This app gives you the added bonus of a pronunciation trainer. But you can’t get far without paying it a fee.

10 . TED Ed Hi Katherine!
This December, the TED-Ed team will host a series of 4 calls for students to learn about climate change, as part of our larger TED Countdown Initiative (方案).
Details about call series:
Each week during the month of December, we’ll meet at the same time on Zoom (an online meeting APP). Students should join in the calls on their own. We’d like students to be able to attend at least 3 of the 4 calls.

As we plan the time when we will meet with students, we’d love to see how many students are interested in this opportunity.
