1 . Teen Writing Contest at the Morgan Library & Museum
How does money impact our behavior? The Morgan Library & Museum’s exhibition Medieval (中世纪) Money, Merchants, and Morality explores mainly how the newly widespread use of money in medieval life transformed society, often challenging and conflicting with the moral beliefs of the community. Choose an object from the Selected Images on the exhibition page and write a diary entry from the opinion of a character in the image.

Entry rules:
▲Identify the title of the Medieval Money artwork that inspired you in your submission.
▲Participants can submit up to two diary entries per person. Character limit is 3,000 per entry.
▲Awards will be given in two age groups: Middle School (Grades 7 to 8) High School (Grades 9 to 12)
Entries will be judged by a group of Morgan Library & Museum staff for originality, creative choice of opinion and style.
Written work should be submitted in a format (格式) readable by Google Drive and/or Microsoft Word. Submissions must be written in English. Content will be published on the Morgan’s webpage and via our social media channels.

3 . Announcing ETC’s Ninth Annual Student Contest for International Education Week!
International Education Week (IEW) is a joint project between the US Department of State and the US Department of Education. It was created in an effort to help people from different countries understand each other and cooperate with each other through education and exchange. All ETC (Education Travel & Culture) students are highly encouraged to make cultural presentations in their host communities as part of IEW.
Where and when does it take place? IEW occurs November 18~22, 2024. You can present in school, at after-school clubs, at your local nursing home, etc. ETC encourages all students to participate in IEW and offers a contest for which the top 3 presenters win amazing prizes.
How can you get involved? Begin planning your presentation now. Ask teachers, your coordinator (协调人), or your host family where you might be able to make your presentation. Make your presentation and take lots of pictures of the event including the materials that you used. Complete the application form and have one or more adults complete the recommendation form. Be sure to submit the forms no later than December 1st.

4 . High School Language Immersion(沉浸) Programs
High school language immersion programs help you improve your language skills while introducing you to the world of international travel.
LITA
For high school students who are truly committed to language acquisition and adventurous ness, LITA’s unique approach to Spanish language immersion places students with a host family in a rural area of Spain, where you will also participate in volunteer work with local businesses. The five-and-a-half-week program is divided into two parts: a three-week homestay and electives or volunteer work, and a two-week trip to the Spanish countryside that focuses on artistic, historical, and cultural experiences.
Overseas Education Summer Camps
For high school students whose mother tongue is not English, you can gain English experience by participating in European language and cultural immersion in an education camp abroad. This two-week program is open to students aged 13-17 and includes outdoor adventures, language learning, and e asses designed to promote self-growth.
Abbey Road
The Abbey Road High School Immersion Program in Spain allows high school students s to immerse themselves in Spanish by living off the beaten path in Cadiz.

8 . Childcare in Cape Town
About the Program
Volunteers work about 5 hours a day in a public kindergarten or NGO-run after-school center for babies to 6-year-olds from some of Cape Town’s poorest townships. Volunteers work with the local teachers to introduce the children to basic concepts in topics like culture, geography, math and writing. They also promote good manners and behavior and the children’s positive development by dancing, making art and playing games or doing sports. Local teachers also rely on the volunteers to help provide individualized attention to children falling behind, and to supervise during recreation time.
Requirements
●Minimum Age: 18 years. In order to join the program you need to be at least 18 years old on the program start date.
●Language Skills: You need to speak English (basic level).
●Education Requirements: Basic English, math and creative art/song/dance at high school level.
●Nationality Restrictions: No restrictions. Helping hands from all over the world are welcome.
●Other Skills: A love and passion for children, patience, ability to use initiative, willingness to help where help is needed.
●Time Commitment: Your helping hand will be required on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 08:00-13:30.
●Program fees
●$182 per week, 4 weeks (min. stay)—12 weeks (max. stay)
●Your payment will be agreed with Stay Africa Volunteers during the application process. Common solutions are either via bank transfer or a cash payment at the project site.
