2 . Michael Jordan was the second player to score more than 3000 points in a season ---but the first one was Wilt Chamberlain .Chamberlain was born in Philadelphia on 21st August 1936. He was one of the 11 children, the only one who was very tall. His father William worked in a shipyard and his mother Olivia was a cleaner. As a child, Chamberlain had various health problems. He had pneumonia and almost died when he was ten.
Chamberlain is the only NBA player who averaged over 50 points per game for an entire season. At one point, Chamberlain was so much better than all the other players that they changed rules of the game to try to stop him.
The giant player joined the NBA’s Philadelphia Warriors in the 1959-1960 season and was an immediate success. During 14 seasons with four different teams, Chamberlain was named the most valued player in the league four times. On 2nd March 1962, he scored 100 points in a single game --no one has ever done that since! The final score was Warriors 169 New York Knicks 147!
Was Wilt Chamberlain better than Michael Jordan? Who knows? But there is no doubt that he deserves the title “outstanding player of his generation ”.

" After the match, Venus said of Gauff, “I think the sky is the limit; it really is. " Venus said, “I feel honored that I was on her wall [as a poster] at some point in her life. 7 . Darius (runner)
I’ve always been sporty, but I was best at football and athletics. When I was 14, I had a trial for a professional football club, but eventually I chose to go down the athletics route instead. My biggest moment came when I got to compete for my country in the youth team and got a medal. It didn’t result in much media attention, though. I’d been hoping some sponsorship would come out of it, because the training doesn’t come cheap. I train at home all winter and then go away for three weeks before the season starts. You’ve got to be really disciplined, though. If friends ask me to go out the night before training, I have to say no. I wish I didn’t, but dedication pays in this sport. The main goal for me is to get to the next Olympics—that would be fantastic.
Gabriel (surfer)
The surfing community is small, so you get to meet the same guys wherever you compete. Professional surfers are very serious and often the best waves are at dawn, so if you’re really going to get anywhere, you have to cut out late-night parties altogether. I don’t mind that so much, but I do love having a lie-in, and I usually have to give that up too. But it’s worth it because without that kind of dedication I might not have won the National Championships last year. And, of course, the sacrifices are worth it in the long run because winning that championship meant I got picked to present a surfing series on TV. I guess I’m a bit of a star now.
Dieter (yacht (帆船) racer)
With five people on a boat together, you have a good laugh. We’re very traditional and we always celebrate a win in great style. If it has been said that we act a bit childishly when we’re out, but we don’t actively go looking for media coverage. Sometimes the reporters actually seem more concerned about where you go out celebrating and what you get up to there than about where you came in the race. I’m away for eight months of the year, so if it is great to get back, go out with my mates from other walks of life and do the things they do. I’m known within the world of sailing, but fortunately I can count the number of times I’ve been recognised in the street on the fingers of one hand, I’d hate to become a star.
Tomas (tennis player)
It’s always a great thing to walk on court and feel that the crowd’s behind you. At the last competition, though, it all got a bit crazy with people crowding around. Despite that, I have to admit that I do still get excited if spotted by fans when I’m out shopping or something. It has its downside though. Tennis players have to travel quite a lot, and in the end that’s why my last girlfriend and I split up, I guess. That was hard, but you’ve got to make sacrifices in any sport; you’ve got to be serious and professional. Actually, it doesn’t really bother me too much. I’m satisfied to concentrate on my game now and catch up on the other things in life once I retired, because, after all, that comes pretty early in this sport.

8 . Paul Simon, the famous American folk singer sang that “every generation throws a hero up the pop charts”. The same is true in sports. Every generation finds an athlete who has the qualities we all wish we had: devotion, excellent athletic ability and grace under pressure.
Giannis Antetokounmpo, who just won a second straight NBA MVP, has all that and more. Now he still plays for an NBA basketball team, the Milwaukee Bucks, and he is a famous forward in NBA. His teammates like him very much because he is good at teaming up with them in every game.
Antetokounmpo was born in Athens, Greece on December 6, 1994. He is the son of immigrants from Nigeria. Three years earlier, his parents had moved from Lagos, leaving behind their firstborn son with his grandparents. After gaining Greek citizenship in 2013, his family changed their surname from Adetokunbo to Antetokounmpo to more closely follow Greek spelling rule.
Antetokounmpo grew up in the Athens neighborhood of Sepolia. His parents, as immigrants, couldn’t easily find work, so Antetokounmpo and his older brother helped by selling watches, ndbags and sunglasses in the streets from place to place. In 2007. Antetokounmpo started playing basketball.

The Los Angeles Times reported the car rolled over many times and Woods was not able to get out of the car on his own. Fortunately, he was wearing his seat belt, which very likely saved his life. Given the multiplicity of fractures, Woods may have also had an external fixator, something kept outside the skin. Moving forward, he will also need to heal and strengthen his muscles, which can take a year or longer

He has won 15 major championships and most recently won The Masters in 2019 after missing a good deal of lime recovering from a back injury. 10 . With an MLB caster dad, Patrick Mahomes II has been training to become a professional athlete almost his whole life. “Ever since I could remember, I was playing something. I didn’t think I would be a football player, but I thought I would be a professional athlete for sure…a baseball or basketball player,” the Kansas City Chiefs star tells CNBC Make It.
Mahomes has had the same trainer since he was 10, and though he didn’t focus on football until his second year at Texas Tech, he’s known for an unimaginable ability to do with what’s happening around him on the field. He also practices every single kind of wild throw he might make in a game. With that knack for top performance, during four seasons in the NFL Mahomes had led the Chiefs to their first Super Bowl in 50 years, for which he was named the game's MVP. At 25, Mahomes has also signed the largest sports contract in history: In July, he signed a deal with the Chiefs worth nearly $500 million over 10 years.
But for all his wins, Mahomes says a defeat like the Chiefs’ 9-31 Super Bowl loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers can be more useful. “People see me on the field playing and winning a lot of football games, and they see the contract and the different businesses that I work with, and they think that everything doing is kind of just working out,” Mahomes tells CNBC Make It. But “I think defeat helps you more than success,” he says. “I just do whatever I can to be better and learn from the mistakes.”
