Now I am    1    (stand) in the ancient city of Pompeii. Founded in the 8th century, Pompeii was once    2    rich and busy city. But because    3    the eruption of volcano on 24th August AD 79, everything    4    (change)．Many people were       5    (bury)alive in the ash, so    6    (be) the city. Walking around the city, I could see the streets with stepping stones and    7    (house)decorated with wall paintings,     8    could be recognized as the symbol of the ancient civilization. The volcano is still standing there,     9    looks very quiet now. It is hard to imagine how this    10    (peace) volcano destroyed the whole city.
