China and Western country may have different cultural beliefs about certain animals. But when it came to pigs, we somehow reach an agreement that pigs are lazy, ugly, stupidly and shameless. None of these words described pigs are exactly positive. Moreover, the truth is that pigs have some good qualities. And there’s probably no good time to clear their names than now, with the arrival of the Year of the Pig on Chinese Spring Festival, which fell February 5 this year. According to a paper publishing in 2017, pigs can tell between those who treat them well or those who don’t. Ted, a British boy, along with his parents were invited to visit a Chinese calligraphy exhibition in London on last Saturday. They were exciting to have such a good chance to have a close look at the traditional Chinese culture. On the show they enjoyed various fine work with great admiration. To their joy, they saw some Chinese artists giving live performances with brush pens. Ted couldn’t help approach an elderly Chinese artist, which was writing attentively with big brush pen. Ted watched with great interest but asked the artist to show her how to use the brush pen. The artist agreed and give him some instructions patiently. Then Ted couldn’t wait to have a try. I experienced the Naadam Festival in China's Inner Mongolia in this year. Naadam meant “games” in Mongolian. It's represented by three events: horse racing, wrestling or archery, which are all so exciting to watch. Before the game, the competitors sang and danced happily, waved their arms. After these amazing performance, the wrestling competition began.
I absolute enjoyed the horse races. However, I was surprised that the riders was children of the same age with me. In beginning, I was worried about their safety, but the locals said they enjoyed them by riding horses all the life. At that moment I started to understand what people say “Horses are at the heart of Mongolian culture.”

The zheng (筝)，a traditional Chinese musical instrument, already has a history of 2,000 years. But we also call “Guzheng”. As a widespread instrument, it enjoyed an unmatching popularity in the Qin Dynasty. The guzheng has strings varied from 6 to 23. That is the most commonly used is the 21-string guzheng. However, some musicians still used the 16-string guzheng now, main in the coastal provinces of China.
The sounds from the guzheng create a sense of harmonious and peace, relieving of stress. Now the guzheng together with many popular elements bring a fantastic feeling.

Last week, a group of international student visited our school. To help them better understanding Chinese tea culture, we took them to the tea room, where I introduced tea culture, including its history, its rich variety, or the craftsmanship of making tea.
Then I showed them how to make tea. I slowly explain the traditional procedures of making tea in detail. Absorb in every move of mine, they were both amazed. They couldn't help to taking pictures from time to time. Next came the moment which I asked them to have try themselves. I was filled with proud to spread our own culture to people all over the world.

Tea has a long history in China, dated back to 5, 000 years ago.

A good many of distinguished poets and writers had written many masterpieces about the appreciate of tea and the love for it, among them was Lu Yu in the Tang dynasty. He wrote The Classic of Tea, the first book on tea，but he was regarded as the “Tea Saint(圣人)”．
Chinese people take delight in tea-drinking. It served almost everywhere. Whenever guest visit, offering a cup of tea to them is a basic social custom. Tea is part of Chinese people’s daily life.

As we all know, culture is similar with an iceberg. There are cultural roles where are obvious and easily to understand. Most of our cultural values, however, is not clear or hidden. For example, when you will visit a restaurant in Japan, people may sit in the floor and use chopsticks to eat. These eat habits are easy to come across. You may not know, therefore, that it’s common for a man to sit cross-legged on the floor, but it’s not considered acceptable for woman to do so.
