2 . Longmen Grottoes

As one of the three most notable Buddhist sculptures in China, the Longmen Grottoes have approximately 1,400 caves with over 100,000 statues. The grottoes were first dug and carved during the Northern Wei Dynasty. Representing the high point of Chinese stone-carving, the Longmen Grottoes are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

White Horse Temple

Originally established under Emperor Ming during the Eastern Han Dynasty, White Horse Temple is the first officially-built temple in China after the introduction of Buddhism. As the cradle of Chinese Buddhism, it holds a vast collection of Buddhist statues and classic sutras. The temple is also famous for interior architecture inspired by the Buddhist styles of Thailand, India and Burma.

Millennium City Park

The Millennium City Park in Kaifeng is a large-scale historical and cultural theme park which copies scenes from the famous ancient painting Along the River During the Qingming Festival. Visitors can watch folklore performances like those of the Song Dynasty and see reconstructions of grand imperial halls and gardens.

Kaifeng Prefecture

Kaifeng Prefecture was once the country’s political, economic and cultural center as well as one of the most booming cities in the world during the Northern Song Dynasty. Today, the rebuilt Kaifeng Prefecture is a scenic area built according to the architectural standards of the Song Dynasty. Visitors can read historical documents and watch performances.

3 . Nashville Sail Camp

Nashville Sail Camp is a learn-to-sail camp for all levels of sailors. Along with sailing, campers will learn valuable problem-solving and creative thinking techniques. They spend their days on shore and on the water, and will come home with plenty of hands-on sailing experience.

All groups are coached by US Sailing qualified instructors and helped by camp counselors (顾问) and junior counselors. Each day includes lessons appropriate for each learning level.

Opti 1

Our youngest and smallest campers will take the helm (舵柄) for the first time, learning the basics of sailing in pairs on board their boats.

Opti 2

Beginners aged 9 and up as well as Opti 1 graduates will increase their skill level at the helm of an Opti sailboat. Campers are encouraged to learn single-handed sailing after mastering sailing in pairs.

Sunfish

Sailors aged 11 and up will explore the waters on a leisure sunfish boat, one of the world’s most popular day sailing boats. Starting off in pairs to increase confidence and get practice with a friend on board, campers are encouraged to try single-handing the boat by the end of the week. Sunfish campers spend most of their time on the water throughout the week.

4 . A road trip is not just about taking in the scenery through the car windscreen. Instead, the changes in location let you increase the scope of your holiday. Here are four recommended routes.

CCR 200

It is a new coastal road trip showing off the hidden side of the Lake District. The route takes in various nature reserves as well as other attractions like beaches and castles. The road trip is aimed at campers of all kinds and has been divided into five sections that can each be done in a day.

The Explorer’s Road

The Road extends almost the entire length of eastern England, featuring some of the country’s hidden treasures and finest attractions. Along the way you can explore stunning beaches, spectacular countryside and historic landmarks, with plenty of campsites lining the route.

South West Coastal 300

The South West Coastal 300 is around the southwest of Scotland. It’s a fantastic way to discover one of the UK’s hidden treasures. Inland, there are demanding hills that provide a steep one to walkers and climbers, not to mention hundreds of square miles of forestry and rolling countryside where cycling enthusiasts can clock up the miles.

Atlantic Highway

The route roughly follows the line of the Atlantic coast. There are picturesque village views and you certainly won’t be short of things to see or do. And there is no shortage of stopovers. The only downside is that the roads round here are extremely busy occasionally, so if you want a more stress-free trip, try heading down out of summer.

8 . Spring is just around the corner, but if you are tired of sunflowers, tulips (郁金香) and other standard gardens, why not head to one of these mysterious and wonderful botanical gardens？

Butchart Gardens, British Columbia, Canada

One of the rarest flowers you’ll find at Butchart Gardens is the Meconopsis, otherwise known as the Tibetan blue poppy. The most impressive flowers can be found in the borders, where you’ll find over one million bedding plants. And although the gardens are famous for their perennials (多年生植物), 300,000 spring-flowering plants are grown every year, and over 900 varieties of plants are grown for the summer gardens alone.

Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, Cape Town, South Africa

Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden is one of a handful of botanic gardens to grow only native plants. Some of the most popular varieties include the king protea, which produces enormous flowers between autumn and summer, and the rare silver tree, a silky-leaved plant, which experts believe could become extinct in the next 50 years.

Denver Botanic Gardens, Colorado, US

Once native to South Africa, these oddly-named flowers are famously drought-hardy, making them perfect for this part of North America. This garden is one of the few to focus on draught-tolerant plants from Colorado and the grasslands of Africa, Mongolia and Argentina. In fact, Colorado is home to nine species of endangered plant, and several can be found here.

Arctic-Alpine Botanic Garden, Tromso, Norway

Visit the world’s northernmost botanical garden and you’ll find a breathtaking collection of plants from the world’s polar and mountainous regions including, in the Himalaya section, the rare giant Tibetan blue poppy, with its huge flowers and metre-high stem. You’ll also see the Wilander buttercup, which can only be found in the quite terrible areas of Svalbard’s unforgiving icy islands.
