If you want to find a place of interest to spend your summer vacation, think about the following locations.
The Nautilus Maldives
Opened in 2019,this independent,Maldivian-owned resort(度假村)is the island nation’s only Relais & Chateaux property. It’s located off a beautiful sandy island in the Indian Ocean, which has been officially recognized as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve for its stunning coral reefs and various marine life. Splendid, oversized accommodations are balanced with plain inners, intended to be in harmony with the surrounding natural scenery.
Six Senses Laamu, the Maldives
Sustainability lies at the core of the unique, luxurious resort in the Maldives’ isolated Laamu Atoll. The three-storied overwater buildings are constructed of local materials, which brings money to nearby island communities. Follow it up with a meal made from produce grown in the islands gardens without using artificial chemicals and freshly caught seafood from local fishermen. Finally, treat yourself to one of the many spa treatments at the Six Senses Spa overlooking the ocean.
Four Seasons Resort Bora Bora, French Polynesia
Built along a small island, the overwater buildings at the Four Seasons Resort Bora Bora rise over the island, blue waters. Inners are simple, inspired by the natural style of a traditional Polynesian village, and all have indoor-outdoor spaces with ladders for access to the lake. Choose from one of three views: beach, lake, or, our favorite, mountain.
Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara, Qatar
On a private island twenty minutes by boat from Qatar’s capital city, this resort houses the Persian Gulf’s 11 Maldivian-inspired overwater buildings on a scale only found in the Middle East. Think: two and three-bedroom units (beginning at 2,500 square feet), each equipped with facilities like a private full-sized swimming pool.

With masks and hand sanitizer, we began our fun journey before sunrise. The Keys are about two hours away from where I live in Florida, so we would get there early to see the sun coming up over the ocean. On the road, we got to enjoy the Gulf of Mexico on one side and the Atlantic Ocean on the other.
When we stopped by Curry Hammock State Park, I was really amazed. The park contains 1,000 acres of land, which protects mangroves, rock land and seagrass beds that are important to the ecosyst(生态系统) in the Keys. During our time there, we were able to see some hawks flying by, and they followed the Gulf coastline of the Caribbean, migrating(迁徙)from Canada and as far south as Peru. These hawks put their wings out, “floated” up in the wide sky and then glided for long distances. After flying for thousands of miles, they still kept their fast flight patterns.
After that, we went to Key West and visited some iconic(标志性的) stops, like Duvall Street and Mile Marker 0. It was really cool because it is the very beginning of US 1, which is the longest road that runs from Key West to the Canadian border.
It was an amazing trip to the Florida Keys, and it was thrilling to have a change of scenery.

Its rooms are equipped with recycled wine bottle chandeliers (枝形吊灯). Breakfast is in the garden among herb pots and flowers. Up above, the flower roof attracts many butterflies and bees.

The White Nile, Uganda
The White Nile flows from the rather calm Lake Victoria, but soon bursts into a major force as it runs through Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, and Sudan. Rafting on the river, though, is best enjoyed when you’re in Uganda, with rapids touching Class V. And now to the best part --- rafting on the White Nile is permitted all year round except in spring, with nine Class V rapids.
The Colorado River, Arizona
When you’re surrounded by beautiful nature, it's hard to concentrate on the task at hand. But if your attention is attracted by nature, you will be thrown into the water. This stretch of the Colorado River has what is probably the largest Class V rapid in the United States, which attracts rafting enthusiasts worldwide. In late spring, snow melts from the Rocky Mountains bringing in some Class V rapids.
The Zambezi River, Zimbabwe
Africa’s got some big thrills in the Zambezi River. It’s full of big Class V rapids. The Batoka Gorge is where the river turns over 23 rapids, going on for a 15-mile stretch below the Victoria Falls. This is best described as the continent’s most thrilling rafting experience all year round except in spring.
The Tuolumne River, California
The Tuolumne River stretches for a distance of 27 miles, where you can experience some amazing Class V rapids. The river will test your rafting skills as you raft along the course. The best time to be here is in early spring. You can also enjoy the wilderness in Yosemite, a valley in California, America.
