1 . After completing my first year of studies, I spent two months travelling in Nepal. There were so many sights to see, foods to eat, and fun activities to try. I only experienced a few of them, but it was an incredible experience all the same.

The first thing I noticed about Nepal was its people. They are kind and friendly, ready to help someone in need. This may be a cliché (陈词滥调) that you hear from most travellers regarding the country they travelled to, but I’m saying so because of what I saw among the citizens themselves, rather than how they treated me as a visitor. It shows in the way that the bus drivers and passengers keep the bus waiting for the last passenger, or the motorist smiles and waves to a kid who runs into the street after his ball. The people are like a bowl of hot soup on a rainy day – always warm and comforting. Conversations were as natural as if we had known each other for years. All the people I met during my trip made me feel at home and made my journey an unforgettable one.

The Sauraha village was my first destination. It is an amazingly quiet and peaceful place, where the people lead their lives at their own pace. Although the temperature was high during the day, it was a great area to see some of the wildlife, such as the one-horned rhino (独角犀牛) and elephants. I also got to attend some cultural shows and experience some of the traditional dances of the Nepalese people.

Of all the places I went to within Nepal, Pokhara was undoubtedly the best place I visited. The environment is great there, and there are a lot of fun things to try out. I chose to go boating on a lake, but you can also go diving. Some of the nearby hills provide a great view of the sunrise early in the morning.

Nepal is beautiful in so many ways. Whether you are looking to relax in the wildness and quietness of nature, or go on an exciting adventure, Nepal offers a variety of options. It will surely impress you.

There is a lot of attention to detail in the way that dishes are plated, creating a dining experience that feels a little fancy — perfect for a date night or a special occasion. There is also a children’s menu, so it’s family friendly, too.

Manna 68

Also in the Old Town is Manna 68, an only vegan restaurant. The menu is varied. Its central location makes it a perfect pit stop(短暂休息) after a day of exploring the streets of the Old Town. That also means it’s a little pricier, but for quality food, friendly service and a comfortable atmosphere, it’s worth it.

Luisa Yu, a 79-year-old woman, fell in love with travel as a young girl in the province of Leyte in the Philippines when she watched movies. “I saw the beautiful scenery, the rivers and the mountains, and that fascinated me,” Yu said. “That’s why I always thought someday I would go to these places and travel.”

At 23, as an exchange student studying medical technologies in the US, Yu decided that she wanted to visit all of the countries in the world, but visa restrictions (限制) didn’t allow her to travel outside of the country.

It took Yu 15years to get her admission allowing her to travel internationally and there were times when she worked three jobs to save money to travel. She eventually took a part-time job as a travel agent, which gave her many more opportunities to travel to new places around the globe.

For the past 50 years, Yu has been visiting countries across the world, even some that are very difficult to get into. She has tried dog meat when she visited the DPRK, explored the beaches of Somalia, and even skydived in Dubai when she was 73. “Everyone said, ‘Don’t go to Somalia, that’s dangerous,’” Yu said. “If I want to go somewhere, nobody can stop me. I want to do everything.”

Yu achieved her goal to visit all of the 193 countries that are recognized by the UN, in November 2023. To date, there have only been around 400 people who have set out to achieve this amazing cause.

Yu’s advice to people who love to travel is to just do it. “Don’t wait for anybody. If I keep on waiting, it will never happen, because the opportunity sometimes comes only once,” she said.
