Last year we went on an European culture tour. I, together with my friends, were looking forward to visiting the University of Greenwich. So we reached the River Thames on the first day. To our joys, we met with a couple of old professors who had been traveling around Britain a few days. We felt so excited which we couldn’t help sharing our travel experiences with them. We visited France and Italy with them and we also had a wonderfully picnic together. As we were expected, they planned to leaving first. We offered to help carry their packs to the airport and saw him off. They were grateful to us. What meaningful and impressive the trip was!

3 . Wildlife of Madagascar

Put yourself in Madagascar’s rich and unique ecosystems, seeing animals including these not found in the wild anywhere else in the world.

Day 1: Arrive into Antananarivo

On arrival, drive to the Relais des Plateaux Hotel and enjoy an evening meal. The name Antananarivo means “City of the Thousand”, referring to the 1,000 Merina tribe soldiers used by a king as protection of his city. More familiarly, it is known as Tana. Split into two parts (upper and lower towns), it is full of colourful markets, ancient stone steps and historical sites.

Day 2: Antananarivo: Andasibe

Head for Andasibe National Park. This 4-hour journey is an adventure, with the drive taking in huge mountain highlands and traditional Merina villages, with rice fields stretching away into the distance.

Andasibe is one of Madagascar’s most popular wildlife parks and offers great opportunities to see some of the country’s excellent wildlife, including the unique indri (大狐猴). The pack’s popularity is reflected in the high-quality accommodation and guiding available.

After lunch, venture into Andasibe National Park for the first time. It is one of the best places to see the largest lemur—the indri.

Day 3: Mantadia

Head out early for a tour of Montadia National Park, mainly covered by towering primary forest, which is sadly becoming less and less in Madagascar. Ranging in altitude from 800 to 1,260 metres, the park has a great variety of species and some good paths with beautiful views across the forest.

Day 4: Mantadia to Kirindy

Drive to the airport for a flight to Morondava, followed by a road trip to Kirindy via a stop at the iconic Avenue of Baobabs, where ancient baobabs (a kind of tree) line either side of the road. Check into Relais du Kirindy, and take a night walk in search of night-time wildlife.

Contemporary artist Olaf Breuning presents a large-scale exhibition for children. It fits young people’s enthusiasm for adventure and theme parks while reflecting Breuning’s thoughts about life. Drawing from popular culture and inspired by theartist’s enjoyment of video games and movies from his youth such as Jurassic Park, the exhibition is interesting. Besides, it provides an opportunity for children to share their thoughts about the world they live in.

·THE LUME Melbourne

THE LUME Melbourne is an adventure into art. The experience features the great works of Vincent van Gogh. Imagine that the vivid colors and details of world-famous artworks come to life all around you while a symphony (交响乐) of sounds creates an impressive multi-sensory experience.

Dujiangyan is    1    oldest man-made water system in the world, and a wonder in the development of Chinese science.

    2     (build) over 2, 200 years ago in what is now Sichuan Province in Southwest China, this amazing engineering     3    (achieve) is still used today. In ancient times, the region     4    Dujiangyan now stands suffered from regular floods caused by overflow from the Minjiang River.     5    (help) the victims of the flooding, Li Bing, the region governor, together with his son, decided to find a solution. Li designed a series of channels built at different levels along Mount Yulei that would take away the floodwater while leaving the river     6    (flow) naturally. Once the system was finished, no more floods occurred and the people were able to live     8     (peaceful). Unlike modern dams where the water is blocked with a huge wall, Dujiangyan still lets water flow through the Minjiang River naturally, enabling ecosystem and fish populations to exist     10     harmony with each other.

Jasmund National Park

It lies on the west coast of the offshore island of Rugen. This UNESCO-protected site is the smallest of Germany’s national parks. It is here that painter Caspar David Friedrich found himself inspired to create one of his masterpieces, Chalk cliffs on Rugen, in 1818. Here long trails can take you all the way to the Rugen coastline, where white-sand beaches and blue waters wait.

Berchtesgaden National Park

Berchtesgaden is one of Germany’s oldest and most beautiful conservation areas. Trails go in and out of the forest, leading you along the bunks of glassy lakes. The more adventurous visitors may choose paragliding (滑翔伞运动) from Mount Jenner mid they can fly over 1,800 meters. Back on the ground, a network of more than 150 miles of walking trails twist through the forest.

Southern Black Forest Nature Park

The highland areas, with views over Switzerland and France, are a good place for food-lovers. Activities in the park range from hiking and fishing to mountain biking, while the slower travelers will enjoy the trails for an escape from everyday life.

The Bliesgau Biosphere

This place is home to almost half of all German orchid (兰花) species. The grasslands spread for miles, drawing in different butterflies. Thanks to its comfortable climate, this is a region of sustainable (可持续的) development. In fact, this park is an example of fanning done right and offers a wealth of agricultural know-how to anyone eager to learn.
