5 . Hyde Park, one of London’s best parks, spreads itself over about 350 acres of neat gardens, vast wilderness overgrown with grass and splendid trees. Hyde Park was created for hunting by Henry VII, who obtained it from the church in 1536. It was enclosed as a deer park and remained a private royal(皇家)hunting ground until James I permitted limited access to the upper-class people. In 1637, Charles I opened the park to the general public.
The eastern half of the park is covered with vast lawns(草地), which become superb picnic areas on sunny days. The western half remains in a wild state, with plenty of trees and areas of wild grass. In the northeast part of the park, you’ll find Speakers’ Corner, where speakers step up to give speeches, discussions and debates on various topics. This is an interesting and unusual place to visit, where you can see people gather to listen, applaud or laugh at different speakers. Speakers’ Corner became famous during the Second World War. Nowadays, it is possible to speak public-ally on any topic, as long as the police consider it lawful.

Despite warning signs and boards that constantly say “No littering here!”, people are unwilling to understand the significance of keeping public places clean. However, Khao Yai National Park in Thailand has taken an unusual step to make sure tourists clean up their own trash.
The park has begun sending trash back to the litterbugs (乱扔垃圾者) with a polite note saying “You forgot these things at Khao Yai National Park” to remind people that littering in public places is against the rules. Mr. Varawut Silpa-archa, minister of Natural Resources and Environment of Thailand, posted a series of pictures on Facebook related with the new step. He posted a picture of a trash-filled box that was ready to be shipped with the words—“YOUR TRASH—WE’LL SEND IT BACK TO YOU.”
Varawut explained that throwing about trash could endanger wild animals, which might eat it by mistake when searching for food. He said littering in the park could carry a fine of up to 500,000 Thai Baht (about $16,000 U.S. dollars), a prison sentence of up to five years, or both. And the offending (违法的) visitors will also be banned from returning to the park.
The officials matched the trash to its owners by taking address details from the camping equipment rental forms. To make the process easier, people will be allowed to enter the park only after writing down their address.
“We think Khao Yai National Park’s new step has made a great contribution to maintaining our country’s natural resources,” Charinya Kiatlapnachai, director of the tourism authority of Thailand, told The Washington Post. “This gesture is an effective way to ensure we all do our part to help our country remain clean, safe and beautiful.”

■The Wild Atlantic Way, Ireland
Most visitors road-trip Ireland s western Wild Atlantic Way to explore beyond hot spots like Dublin and Cork, but the route is also fast becoming a great region for stargazing, thanks to the efforts of local communities along the Way.
If planning a trip, keep in mind that Ireland does have wet months where overcast skies are more likely to affect your stargazing prospects.
■Wadi Rum, Jordan
Wadi Rum is also sometimes called the “Valley of the Moon,” though you’re more likely to compare it to Mars if you visit. Made famous for its otherworldly landscapes in movies like Prometheus, Star Wars, Rogue One and The Martian, Wadi Rum’s towering red rock formations are extremely interesting to explore by day-and offer protection from any distant light pollution once the sun sets.

It is here that painter Caspar David Friedrich found himself inspired to create one of his masterpieces, Chalk Cliffs on Rügen, in 1818. Here long trails can take you all the way to the Rügen coastline, where white-sand beaches and blue waters wait for you.
The Bliesgau Biosphere
This place is home to almost half of all German flower species. The grasslands spread for miles, drawing different butterflies. Thanks to its comfortable climate, this is an area of sustainable development. In fact, this park is an example of farming done right and offers a wealth of agricultural know-how to anyone eager to learn.
Southern Black Forest Nature Park
The highland areas, with views over Switzerland and France, are a good place for food-lovers. Activities in the park range from hiking and fishing to mountain biking, while the slower travelers will enjoy the trails for an escape from everyday life.

Continue marching westwards to the Jinshanling Great Wall, we will pass by three famous watchtowers, namely Big Jinshan Tower, Small Jinshan Tower, and Black Tower. After another one hour's hiking, we will arrive at the Shalingkou Pass. You may either return at Shalingkou or continue hiking for another 30 minutes to Zhuanduokou Pass.
