Although it was autumn, it was snowing in Tibet. It was such cold that our legs felt like blocks of ice. On the afternoon, we found that our water bottles froze because cold weather. But we still enjoyed us during the journey. At one point, we were surprising to find ourselves cycling through clouds. In the valleys colorful butterflies fly around us. It was a great fun to cycle down the hills as it gradual became much warmer. But we had to change our warm coats for T–shirt and shorts.

With the Spring Festival come, there will be a long winter holiday. However, I am not going to travel somewhere, because I don’t want to join the crowds. Last year, my parents as well as I paid a visit Qufu, Confucius’ hometown by car. It was a fascinating city with the history of more than five thousand year. Honest speaking, it is an important birthplace of oriental culture. The location of the city is very good and the surrounded landscape is also very charming. Thank to Confucius, crowds of people are eager to visiting Qufu. Qufu’s custom is simple and its people are generous but enthusiastic. We have enjoyed various buildings there and listened to the guide carefully. The journey left a deep impression on us, that has broadened my knowledge.

I like travelling and our dream of visiting Beijing, the capital city of our country, come true during the National Day holidays this year. In October 1st, I went to Tian’anmen Square with my parents, there we watched the flagraising ceremony. As I watched flag rising slowly, I sang the national anthem, feeling extremely exciting. Then we went to some other famous tourist attraction, like the Great Wall. Standing on the Great Wall, I felt very proudly. I thought of the old saying that “One who fail to reach the Great Wall is not a true man.” Although I was tired, but I really had a good time.

I still remember my last summer holiday where I visited Washington State with Tom. We went camp in the forest. It was a little of cold but in October the season brought lots of differently colors to the trees. Everything looks just beautiful. Later, we saw the snowy mountains and began to drive at foot of the mountains and finally they arrived in the desert. It was a sunny day and the scenery were beautiful. Last Sunday, my classmate and I went to Mount Tai. It was the first time I have climbed this mountain. But as a local, my classmates not only had been there many times but also knew a lot of this famous mountain. Worked as my guide, she told me many related stories along way. She was so knowledgeable, which was unknown to me. And that impressed me most was the beauty of Mount Tai. The Xi’an Forest of Stone Tablets, initially set up in the 1087, was official named in the Qing Dynasty. It is an art treasure house where is composed of more than 3,000 stone tablets from the Han Dynasty through the Qing Dynasty. The museum is naming “Forest of Stone Tablets” because the numerous stone tablets housing in the museum look like a dense forest. The museum was a treasure house of ancient Chinese calligraphy as well as a good collection of historical documents and stone carvings in various styles. Moreover, the tablets bear evidences to the cultural exchanges in ancient China and show the great achievements of that period. However, for the visitors to Xi’an, the Forest of Stone Tablets is of great attraction in addition terracotta warriors. We will surely be impressed by its rich culture.
