1 . Bill and Cathy wanted to go on a holiday. They chose a place called Maldives (马尔代夫). And someone told them the weather there had been wonderful all the time!

2 . For almost every traveler, culture shock is unavoidable. But culture shock isn’t always a ________ thing. It can be an indication that you’re growing. The new ________ stretch your mind about the world—different languages, cultures, customs are just a few ways a travel culture shock can ________. If you’re able to ________ the culture shock, then you will be open to ________ these foreign experiences.

When I traveled to Egypt, I knew neither their language nor what to expect. All I ________ was it’s conservative. When I landed, I really felt as though I’d been ________ to another world. 3 . My parents, siblings and I took our first camping trip to the Lake Houston Wilderness Park recently.

We had finished putting up the ________ when it suddenly started to rain. Luckily, we had ________ our tent on a high flat ground where water could not pour in. Mom got some snacks and drinks ready for us while we played games and ________ about our daily life, which made wet-weather camping fun. How ________ it was camping under the sound of the rain! 4 . An off-duty pilot was called a "legend" after stepping in to fly a plane himself to stop the flight being cancelled.

Michael Bradley, a(n) _______ easyJet pilot, had a holiday when he _______ flying a plane that was delayed by two hours. He told passengers on board the Manchester Airport flight to Alicante that he was _______ his services as there was no pilot available. Mr. Bradley was filmed by passenger Michelle Potts making the _______ and Ms. Potts posted the video on Facebook.

Mr. Bradley said, "My wife was then with my little boy. She _______ and complained ‘Our flight's delayed by two hours because there's no _______ for the flight.’ So just before we went through security I _______ if this is worth a phone call. I think it is because I'd like to go on holiday."

Mr. Bradley phoned up easyJet and said, "I'm standing in the _______ doing nothing. And his bosses called him back in less than a minute to give him the go-ahead, saying, "Please, please, can you fly the airplane to Alicante?" An easyJet spokesman said the flight's delay was due to the knock-on effects of the French Air Traffic Control ________ on Sunday. 6 . Last summer, my grandma took our large family on a vacation to Tanzania for a few weeks. While we did spend a large amount of time _________ wildlife in the Serengeti national park, the most memorable part of the trip for me was _________ the local culture. Whenever we rode somewhere in the ‘safari trucks’, the local children would, at the sight of the trucks, rush to the side of the road to _________ and shout “hello”. While he ate his fish, the family invited us into their yard. Everybody’s attitude was so __________ from that of people back home, who now seemed boring and __________ . Things that seemed so unusual to me, like letting strangers into one’s house, are completely __________ to these people.
