6 . 根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。

Please Don’t Be Afraid To Travel On Your Own

You want to travel. You make an unclear plan.    1    But either way, you’re leaving in six months time. You start doing research every single night.

Of course, as this will be your first ‘real’ travel experience, you naturally prefer to travel with other people.    2    But the first friend you ask, perhaps your closest friend, turns you down and so you move on to the next friend.    3    The third friend, the fourth friend and even that guy that you don’t really like say no as well.

4    You hope that one of your friends will change their mind and decide to join you. Maybe you decide to forget about your trip altogether, fully believing that you can only travel so far away from home with a friend or travel companion (同伴) by your side.

Don’t give up just yet. Here’s my advice to you. You may be on your own when you board that flight to Bangkok or Mexico City, but believe me, once you arrive, you’ll never actually be alone. That’s how travel works. Unless you stare at the ground and never talk to anyone, you’re going to meet people when you travel, lots and lots of people from all over the world.    5

A.Don’t give it up.
B.Maybe you’ll fly to Thailand or to Mexico.
C.Meeting new people is one of the worst things to do.
D.But they too, tell you they have no interest to join you at all.
E.They will be interested in meeting and hanging out with you.
F.So you start asking your friends to join you in your journey.
G.Maybe you decide to put off your trip for another six months.

7 . When I was a boy, my parents and I traveled from New York City to the Pennsylvania countryside for a week-long taste of rural life. We stayed in guest house on a farm, joining the daily routine and eating meals with the farmer and his family. We got up early to the cows as they were milked. I even tried my hand at milking one, and then joined the farmer as he released the cows into the field afterwards.

Decades later I still have vivid memories of that trip which made me realize the value of a vacation, seeing new things, meeting new people and sharing memorable experiences with family members. To this day, I still consider that family trip when I plan to take time off with my wife and kids. Vacations are a time for resting and connecting. As a bank manager, I spent much of my workday encouraging my customers to save their money. One of the reasons give is that we should all have enough money for family vacation every year. In our busy lives, family is what we should save our money and time for.

For my family, our vacation starts when we begin planning the trip. We talk about destinations and our budget ahead of time. Among the things we discuss: Can we save money by renting a house instead of spending six nights in a hotel Would it be better to buy groceries and good for ourselves rather than eat out every night? Involving the kids in planning the vacation makes sure that they have a great vacation too. I prefer to visit historical sites and museums while they love to fish and swim. So build in some relaxation time for us all so that the vacation can work for everyone.

Each year, setting aside vacation time to spend together is especially important to us. A relaxing environment opens door to all kinds of conversations---deep, silly or meaningful. There is no pleasure from the usual everyday tasks. What matters is that everyone is having a great time.

1. Why did the author and his parents go to the countryside when he was young?
A.To milk the cows.B.To meet the farmer and his family.
C.To experience country life.D.To enjoy the scenery.
2. What would the author encourage his customers to save their money for?
A.For family vacations.B.For better investment.
C.For children’s education.D.For traveling alone.
3. What is this passage mainly about?
A.The author had a good time in the countryside.
B.The author advised others to spend vacations with their families.
C.The author tried to enjoy the holidays with his family.
D.The author realized the values of a family vacation and put it into practice.
