Located in Lichuan, Hubei proince, Tenglong Dong is one of the world’s largest caves. The cave     1     (list) as the 74th longest cave of the world and the third longest in China with a length of 53,210m. The cave offers extraordinary big passages and one of the     2     (tall) cave entrances on earth, 74m high and 64m wide. The cave     3     (it) is a huge passage, only slightly smaller than the entrance.

The cave is entered at one point by a huge river,     4     (call) Qingjiang River, a branch of the Changjiang. After eight journeys to China, last year my wife and I decided to visit the Chinese autonomous (自治) region of Tibet.

It was a trip I     1    (want) to take for many years, but my wife was unwilling, mostly due to her worries about dealing with the potential effects     2     altitude sickness. At elevations (海拔) of 12,000 feet and above, Tibet can be a challenge for those     3     spend most of their life at sea level. After much discussion and research, we finally decided to meet the challenge of Tibet.

For our journey, we decided to seek a different route to Tibet.     4     (traditional), tourists enter Tibet through Lhasa by flying directly there or taking the train from Chengdu. Both of these routes generally involve     5     (enter) the high altitude in one day. However, we made up our mind     6     (fly) from Chengdu to Linzhi Airport in the lower eastern section of Tibet. We calculated that it would be     7     ( good) to begin at a lower altitude of around 9,000 feet and then spend the next two days making our way to the higher elevations of Lhasa.
