Rows of small cottages with    1    (beauty) courtyards come into sight when one sets foot on Xiaopan village, Pan’an county of Zhejiang province. They were developed on local villagers’empty houses and are now used as shared homestays(家庭住宿)    2    (develop) tourism in the village.

Tourists can pick fresh vegetables in    3    communal (公共的) garden, while meals    4    (serve) from a communal kitchen. The fresh air and unique environment have drawn many tourists to Pan’an for leisure.

Since many    5    (villager) have vacant rural houses, local authorities came up    6    the idea of shared homestays to help improve tourist experiences    7    increase farmer income.

To date, 32 rural households have joined the shared homestay program,    8    offers more than 130 rooms. In addition, the village infrastructure (基础设施)    9    (improve) over the years, and parks and cultural plazas (露天广场) have been built.

“We developed the village in harmony with nature,    10    (keep) a rural appearance,” says Kong Wanhen, an official with the village.

Last month, a new bridge     1    (open) to the public. It’s the longest hanging bridge for walkers in the world. Guess how long it is. It     2    (be) 516 meters - over five football fields long.

Workers     3    (start) to build the bridge in May, 2018. It cost $2. 8 million and took over two years to complete. The bridge     4     (run) between two mountains. At its highest point, it is 175 meters off the ground. Far, far below is a big rushing river. Along the river, there is     5    eight-kilometer- long wooden walkway. The website for the bridge describes the walk across the bridge as “the most exciting 510 meters of your life. ”Many tourists, they believe will come    9    (enjoy) the fantastic experience of walking across.

After consideration, I finally    2    (pay) a visit to Sorrento during the summer vacation. The town was considerably popular for American weddings and traditional food. One evening, while    3    (wander) on the street, I was attracted by a house. A proud citizen told me that was the restaurant    4    Sophia Loren, the famous actress, once dined. Perhaps what impressed me most about Sorrento was their lemons. The fruit provided the raw materials for lemon soaps on sale everywhere.

My time here in China is going well. I love my new school     1     classmates. Over the October holiday, my parents and I are planning to go to Xi’an to see the Terracotta Army. I’ve heard that it is an    2    (amaze) sight, and I can’t wait to go. To me, the story of the Terracotta Army is almost unbelievable. It’s amazing that there are more than 8,000     3     (statue), and no one in modern times knew about     4     (they) until the1970s.

We’re also planning to visit several other places in Xi’an. My dad and I are both looking forward to    5     (go) to the Shaanxi History Museum, because my dad loves history and I have heard that this museum is known    6    a “Chinese treasure house”！We’re also going to the Xi’an City Wall and a few other famous     7     (sight).

Xiao Ming lives in Nanchong. Now he     1     (take) Tom to visit his hometown. Tom thinks it is one of the most attractive     2     (place) he has been to. The city is lively and its people are so     3    (friend). Xiao Ming says that he feels fortunate living here. The climate in Nanchong is pretty hot and wet in summer,     4     it can be quite cold in winter. Nanchong is a famous tour city and     5     are hundreds of thousands of visitors from all over the world every year. Many modern buildings     6     (put) up in the recent years, and there are some great shopping malls in the business district. With them     7     (approach) the sports park across the West River, they can see the West Hill,     8     is gorgeous with some       9     (real) interesting architecture and local specialty restaurants at its foot. And now Tom is starving, so they decide     10     (park) their car to have lunch in a nice little fish restaurant.
