Tibet was a region I was desperate to see,     1     its remoteness and my inability to go delayed my journey. Last summer, my brother and I finally decided to take the trip.

We set off at the Guangzhou train station and three days later, we arrived in Lhasa. The trip certainly took a while; however, we     2     (reward) with the most beautiful views and made friends along the way, all at a     3     (low) cost than flying.

We started our tour of Lhasa watching pilgrims(朝圣者)doing their morning prayers,     4    (comprehensive) exploring the palace. We had an incredible lunch at one of the best restaurants in Lhasa,     5     offered a beautiful view overlooking the Jokhang Temple.

Then we started our journey to the Qomolangma base camp    6     road from Lhasa. Along the way we stopped     7     (admire) the Yamdrok Lake. Its beauty was beyond     8    (describe).

About a week later, we arrived. We stayed in a guesthouse just next to the base camp and after dropping off our luggage,     9     (head) straight outside to see the Mt. Qomolangma. The tip of the mountain emerged through the clouds,     10     (astonish) us with its unbelievable height. The clouds parted and we watched the sunset over the peak.

A white winter in Beijing is nothing new. The city is    1    （frequent）enveloped in snow over the colder months. However, the snowfall last weekend led    2    a unique combination of the seasons and a contrast of colours.

Famous places, especially with unique    3    （nature）beauty, were blanketed with a layer of snow and visitors. Camera in hand and braving the cold, I headed off to two of my favourite scenic    4    （spot）.

My first stop was Jingshan Park. The artificial park    5    （build）in the Ming Dynasty offered remarkable views of the Forbidden City. The coating of snow, contrasting with the colours of the autumn leaves and ancient structures only added to    6    （it）elegance and mystery. It is a view I    7    （see）countless times over the past decade and remains one of my favourite in the city.

Next up was Xiangshan Park,    8    dates back to the Jin Dynasty. There was a significant increase in    9    number of visitors. People traveled from all over China    10    （witness）the tree-covered hillsides transforming from their rich summery greens into yellows and reds like a blanket of fire. This created a picture I wouldn't soon forget.

The 2021 (22nd) Hainan Island Carnival kicked off in Haikou, capital city of Hainan province, on Dec 10, 2021.

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism will continue to support Hainan in     1    (deepen) reform and opening up, support Hainan’s aim to become an international tourism consumption center, and provide     2    (assistant) for the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port.

The festival     3    (joint) organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the People’s Government of Hainan province     4    (become) a vital platform in the past 20 years for Hainan to increase cooperation and exchanges in the fields of tourism, culture and sports     5     the world. I have been living in Xiamen for more than six years, but every time I visit Kulangsu, it feels special. When I first visited the island, it felt like     1     (step) back in time, right into a time when people were closer to one another.     2     (casual) walking through the isle streets, bumping into an old friend, sharing a few     3     (word) with another visitor who crosses your path... Seemingly trivial (微不足道的) things but such precious experiences in our hurried modern paces of life.

Kulangsu... Every time you go there, you’ll find a new spot. And a new story.

The Jiangsu countryside stretching between the cities of Suzhou and Shanghai is home to a lot of small beautiful water towns, many of which     1     (locate) along the Grand Canal, an artificial canal connecting Hangzhou to Beijing with the aim of bringing supplies of goods to the imperial capital.

One of these towns is Tongli, which is easily     2     (access) to tourists from the nearby city of Suzhou.     3     (build) in the Song Dynasty, the town offers pleasant views and landscapes of traditional China, characterized by picturesque canals crossed by arch bridges and whitewashed houses that overlook the water.

Walking along the narrow alleys(巷), you can admire     4     interesting number of well-preserved traditional houses, temples and gardens. The atmosphere is     5    (exceptional) peaceful compared to most popular sites that are ruined by mass tourism and commercialization. Yes, Tongli is home to a great many souvenir shops and local products, but what amazed me was     6     well the town is preserved despite being open to tourism: a good balance       7     commercial activities and local life. So in spite of its     8     (popular), Tongli maintains a quiet, laid—back feeling, making it an ideal destination for visitors who seek peace and leisure.

Tourists have been warned not to take sand and seashells from beaches in Sardinia, an Italian island in the Mediterranean Sea. More than 40 people,     1     took a combined 100 kilograms of sand and shells, have been fined up to £2,575 each. The Universal Beijing Resort,     1    (current) the largest in scale worldwide, was open to the public on Monday, which coincided with this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival holiday from Sept. 19 to 21. Going to Mount Huangshan reminds me of the popular Beatles’ song “The Long and Winding Road”.     1     is so breathtaking about the experience is the out-of-this-world scenes. The rolling sea of clouds you see once you are at the top will remind you how tiny we     2     (human) are.

The hot spring at the foot of the mountain is something you must try after the climb. It will     3    (undoubted) help you get refreshed!
