1 . Rebecca, a wildlife camerawoman, was filming a documentary for the BBC in the Pacific Ocean when she saw something that made her cry: hundreds of  _______   had died because they had  _______  eaten some of the tons of plastic thrown into the sea. People in the town got used to taking a shopping bag with them to the supermarket—just like their grandparents had done before plastic bags were  invented . Later, other towns in Britain followed Modbury's  ________ . The small town of Hebden Bridge became the second plastic-bag-free town when four women there saw Rebecca's film and  ________  to act and the people there are happy to change things.

More and more towns around are becoming plastic-bag-free. Now "the bag for life" is part of the national________, and the task of reducing the use of plastic bags has become law. Since October 2015, all shops in the UK must________ five pence for each plastic bag used by each shopper. It's not enough, of course, ________  it's a good start. 3 . After observing a few big falls from a tree, the Morgan family knew that there were two baby squirrels that needed a bit of extra ________. 6 . Tenzing Bodosa was awoken at midnight by a sound outside. He got up and saw several wild _________ in his farm. For many farmers, seeing such animals appear in the farm is _________. However, for Bodosa, who ran a large tea farm in the state of Assam, India, it meant everything was working _________.

The Asian elephants has been listed as a(n) _________ species by International Union for Conservation of Nature and their population has _________ by half in the past decades for various reasons. One is _________ to the vast tea farms, which elephants regard as parts of their forest habitats and their migratory routes over centuries.

“Sadly, in India, _________ between humans and wild elephants often end up _________,” said Bodosa. “I decided that there must be a way for us to live _________.” Then Bodosa began a natural tea farm in 2007.

To create an elephant-friendly area for elephants, Bodosa planted organic grass, fruits and tea. He also provided them with easy __________ by making sure there were no fences or other __________ to restrict wild elephants’ movement.

Gradually, his tea farm __________ other animals’ visiting. Many human visitors followed, too, and some even volunteered here. 7 . In the 2010s, 34-year-old Miller travelled around the world as a marine biologist. However remote the location, she made the same alarming discovery: amounts of plastic littering the water and _______ marine life. Miller knew she needed to do something.

Her group called A Greener Future estimates that 33 percent of what they _______ comes from food packaging after organizing litter clean-ups across Canada. If food _______ were a country, it would be the third largest producer of greenhouse gases. Miller, determined to tackle the problem at the source, envisioned a shop that _______ plastic bags and quit the bad habit of wasting food itself.

In 2018, Miller opened one of the first zero-waste grocery stores in Canada, with her mission _______ the emphasis on sustainability.
