The earth’s plants     1     animals become endangered every day. And many of them are     2     (die) out. If nothing is done, we may find     3     (our) alone on the earth.

Wild animals live in the forests     4     are being destroyed by people. As a result, the animals are losing their habitats. Besides, animals are short of food because of     5     (pollute). Even     6     (bad), buying leads to killing, too.

I suggest that measures should be taken     7     (protect) wildlife. First, we can try to raise people’s awareness to love animals, for they are our     8     (friend). Then the government should make laws, if someone hunt, they must     9     (punish). If we do so, I am sure humans can live in harmony     10     animals.

A terrible earthquake hit the city of Tangshan on July 28, 1976.in which thousands of people died and many     1    (injure). Many houses     2     （fall ）down and sand filled the wells instead of water. People were greatly     3    ( shock). All the electricity in the city was cut     4    and people began to wonder how long the disaster would last . The whole city was completely     5    (destroy) and the world seemed     6     its end.   

The people of Tangshan didn't lose hope, because 150.000 soldiers were sent     7     ( help) the rescue workers. The soldiers tried their best to dig out those     8    were trapped. They also built shelters for the survivors. Fresh water was taken to the city by every means. Slowly. the city began to come .back to life.

It was said that before the quake, strange things were happening in the countryside. The water in the village wells     9    (rise) and fell. Fish jumped out of the ponds. Strange noises were heard in the sky, but people thought little of     10    

Global warming is one of the most serious problems facing humans and greenhouse gases are the main cause of it. Greenhouse gases are produced not only by industry but also by individuals (个人). People use energy to drive cars, make homes     1     (comfort) and grow and transport food. Finding a     2     (solve) to the problem of greenhouse gases is not only a political subject but an individual one as well.

Look for ways     3     (reduce) energy at home. Turn off electrical appliances that you are not using. Replace your light bulbs with energy-efficient light bulbs.

Reduce and recycle. Be careful with the products you buy. Be energy-conscious of transportation. Walk, ride a bike     10     take a bus.
